    A Study on Residence-Workplace Locational Interdependence

    The spatial division of residence-workplace ha been intensified with the industrialization of Capitalism. Spatially expressing productive work and reproductive work, home and workplace depend upon each other locally. Gender differences in the interdependence of home and workplace are internal. Generally, residence-workplace distance of women is shorter than that of men. It is related with gender differences in the way of choosing home and workplace as well as lower status of women in labor market. This study objectified Kuro-gu & Kangnam-gu, Seoul. The concrete purpose of this study is to investigate : 1) the gender differences in residence-workplace distance are closely related with the economic activity variable, like occupation or income. 2) the implication of the fender differences of residence-workplace location decision and job search methods in home-workplace locational interdependence. 3)the influences by the local characteristics of work and residence on the 'residence-workplace' locational interdependence. The major findings are as follows
