The Diffusion of New Agricultural Technology Suitable for Elderly Farmers: A Case of Elevated Hydroponics for Strawberry Cultivation
한국기술혁신학회 추계학술대회(2013.10.31.) 발표논문을 수정·보완한 것임.This study investigates the effect of farmers age on the diffusion of new agricultural technology with special reference to technology that suits the needs of elderly farmers in South Korea. The elevated hydroponic system for strawberry cultivation was selected as a model case of such technology because it is labor-saving and intensity-relieving compared to typical soil-cultivation. In the analysis for the determinants of farmers technology adoption, a binomial logit model was applied to the survey data of 266 strawberry farmers. Empirical results confirm that, when we control for the individual farmers education level and technology acceptance level, the age of the farmers does not lower the adoption rate of the elevated hydroponic system. Human capital and employment of female marriage immigrants in South Korea: A comparison by countries of origin
본 연구는 국내 결혼이주여성을 대상으로 인적자본과 취업과의 연계성이 출신국가에 따라어떤 차이가 있는지 분석한다. 특히 인적자본의 전이성에 초점을 맞추어 결혼이주여성의 모국 인적자본이 국내 취업 및 취업직종에 미치는 영향을 OECD 회원국과 비회원국, 중국(한국계) 출신으로 나누어 비교분석한다. 분석자료는 「2012년 전국 다문화가족 실태조사」(여성가족부?통계청) 원자료이고, 한국어능력의 내생성을 고려하여 2단계 추정법을 사용하여 취업 여부 및 취업직종 결정요인을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 모국에서의 대졸학력은 출신국가群에 관계없이 국내 전문직 취업에 유리하게 작용하였다. 모국에서의 취업경험은 OECD 비회원국의 전문직 취업확률을 높이고 회원국의 비전문직 취업확률을 낮추는 효과를 나타냈다. 한국어능력은 OECD 비회원국 출신의 전문직 취업확률과 중국(한국계) 출신의 비전문직 취업확률을 유의하게 높였다. 출신국가에 따른 이러한 차이는 결혼이주여성의 다양성을 감안한 취업지원정책이 필요하다는 것을 시사한다.
This study analyzes the nexus between human capital and employment of female marriage immigrants in South Korea, with the specific focus on the transferability of human capital. The employment effect of human capital accumulated in home country on the employment status in the Korean labor market was compared across different country groups.
Taking into account the endogeneity of the Korean language proficiency among female marriage immigrants, empirical analysis was conducted using two-stage estimation methods.
The data were drawn from the 2012 National Survey of Multicultural Families in Korea.
The empirical results indicate that college education in home country significantly increases the probability of female marriage immigrants employment in professional jobs; this holds true for all country groups. Furthermore, the employment experience in home country and proficiency in Korean also increase the probability of holding professional jobs for female immigrants from non-OECD countries. Overall, our results suggest that employment support policies for female marriage immigrants need to address these diversities with regard to different country groups.N
The Impact of Human Resource Development & Management on Corporate Performance
본 연구는 기업성과를 재무성과, 경영성과, 조직효과성의 다차원 구조로 이해하고 각각의 차원별로 성과지수를 개발하였다. 기업의 인적자원시스템 또한 인적자원 개발, 평가 및 보상, 인적자원부서 역량의 복합구조로 파악하여 개별 인적자원지수와 종합 시스템지수를 개발하였다. 이를 바탕으로 기업의 인적자원 투자가 이후의 재무성과, 경영성과, 그리고 조직효과성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 인적자원 및 성과지수의 개발에는 요인분석을 사용하였고, 인적자원개발 프로그램 및 관리 제도가 기업성과에 미치는 효과의 추정에는 OLS 회귀분석과 2SLS(IV) 분석을 사용하였다. 분석자료는 한국직업능력개발원의 「인적자본기업패널(HCCP)」 1차(2005년) 및 2차(2007년) 조사자료와 해당년도 한국신용평가정보(주)의 기업 재무자료를 사용하였다.
회귀분석 결과에 의하면, 전체 시스템으로서 기업의 인적자원 개발 및 관리 수준이 높을수록 재무, 경영 및 조직효과성 차원 모두에서 기업의 성과가 유의하게 높아진다. 기업 인적자원 투자의 내생성을 고려하면, 인적자원시스템 지수는 재무성과 중에서 종업원 1인당 매출액에만 유의한 양(+)의 효과를 미친다.This study develops an index for each of corporate financial performance, operational performance and organizational effectiveness, with the view that these disparate elements constitute corporate performance. Human resources indexes are also developed under the assumption that corporate human resources system is likewise multi-dimensional, encompassing such factors as human resource development, performance evaluation/compensation, and the competence of human resource management (HRM) division. Using these indexes, this paper examines the effect of the firm's investment in human resource development and management (HRD/HRM) on financial performance, operational performance, and organizational effectiveness of the firm. The factor analysis was used to develop the indexes for human resources system and corporate performance. The empirical analyses are based on data from the first two Human Capital Corporate Panel (HCCP) surveys conducted by Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training (KRIVET) in 2005 and 2007, as well as on the corporate financial information for years 2005 and 2007 as provided by Korea Information Service(KIS). The OLS regression analyses reveal that the firm's level of HRD/HRM as a system has a significant positive impact on financial and operational performance and organizational effectiveness of the firm. On the other hand, the human resources system index, controlling for the endogeneity of corporate human resources investment, indicates that any meaningful positive effect of HRD/HRM is limited only to per-employee sales
