[์˜๋ฌธ] In Korea, population problem has become one of the most important tissues that are to be solved immediately for the nation's development of socio-economic status and promotion of public health. How nationwide family planning program is the major measure for the effort of reducing berth rate. Since introduction of contraceptives to the eligible couples in Korea, intra-uterine contraceptive device such as Lippes Loop was the most frequently accepted contraception among the Korean wives. Recently, United Nations recommended various demographic models for evaluation of family planning programmes. Among the models, Reproductive Process Analysis Model, developed by Robert G. Potter, was the only available dynamic model that estimates birth averted rates by acceptor's age-specific characteristics. This study, therefore, was aimed to measure age and period specific berth averted rates for the users of intra-uterine contraceptive device during the period from 1968 to 1979. Data used for this study were from the nationwide statistics compiled by the Ministry of Health and Social Affaire. The major estimates are summarized as follows: 1. From 1968 to 1971, the mean protection time was estimated as 1.18 years, and the berth averted rate was 32 per 100 users on the average. 2. From 1972 to 1975, the mean protection tome was eatimated as 1.18 years, and the berth averted rate was 31 per 100 users on the average. 3. From 1976 to 1979, the mean protection time was estimated as 1.23 years, and the birth averted rate was 37 per 100 users on the average. 4. The estimated five-year age group specific mean protection time for the period of 1968 to 1979 were, 0.6 years for 20-24, 0.8 years for 25-29, 1.4 years for 30-34, and 2.0 years for 35-39 on the average. 5. Sixteen textbooks were elucidated regarding whether they improved on the textbooks based on the previous version of Educational Curriculum. Within the range of phonological knowledge, the factors differentiated among the textbooks were the following: the distinction between phoneme and voice, the concept of consonant and vowel, the classification by articulating method, the concept of liquid. The most contrasting factor was the classification by articulating method. Two textbooks did not contain the concept of liquid, which is highly recommended to be covered in the textbook for the preparation of the lesson of the Phonological changes in Korean. Several textbooks did not clearly describe the concept of phoneme and grapheme. A considerable number of textbooks did not provide a clear explanation about the standards of lax consonant-fortis-aspirate classification, front vowel-back vowel classification
