No effective antiviral therapy is available yet, but ribavirin (RBV) was used for patients with SFTS. We investigated the antiviral effect of RBV against SFTSV in vitro. Methods: To test for cytotoxicity of RBV, Vero cells were treated with different concentrations of RBV (0 - 500 ฮผg/mL, in serial two-fold dilutions) and analyzed by cell viability MTS assay. To determine antiviral activity of RBV against SFTSV, Vero cells were infected with SFTSV strain Gangwon/Korea/2012 at 100 tissue culture infective dose (TCID50) per well in a 96-well plate, and RBV was added at non-cytotoxic concentrations. The antiviral activity of RBV was determined by the observation of cytopathic effects by SFTSV-infected Vero cells and the measurement of viral RNA titers in culture supernatants using one-step real-time reverse transcription - polymerase chain reaction to amplify the partial large segment of SFTSV. Statistical analysis was done by one-way ANOVA with Tukeys post hoc test. Results: Cytotoxicity due to RBV was not detected for RBV at concentrations โ‰ค 31.3 ฮผg/mL. Viral RNAs at 24 h post-RBV treatment were reduced by administration of increasing RBV concentrations (1 - 32 ฮผg/mL), compared with those of mock-treated cells (P < 0.01). RBV reduced SFTSV titers and cytopathic effects in a dose-dependent manner, with half maximal inhibitory concentrations of 3.69 to 8.72 ฮผg/mL. Conclusion: Our study shows that RBV has in vitro antiviral effect against SFTSV in a dose-dependent manner. Further studies are warranted to evaluate the clinical efficacy of RBV in SFTS.Abstract i Contents iv Introduction 1 Methods 3 Results 7 Discussion 15 References 18 Abstract (Korean) 22Maste

A Study on Economic Determinants of Social Welfare Expenditure of Local Autonomous Entity

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze economic determinants of social welfare expenditure of local autonomous entity and to suggest implications about social welfare expenditure policy focusing on the autonomous districts in Busan Metropolitan City. Specifically, the thesis establishes hypothesis as well as model about the determinants. And it tries empirical test using regression analysis with panel data of the autonomous districts in Busan Metropolitan City about time period of 2008โˆผ2015. The thesis tries to consider heterogeneity of each autonomous district of Busan Metropolitan City. Thus the regression analysis include Fixed Effect Model, Random Effects Model etc. as well as Pooled OLS and Pooled GLS which precedent researches used. The thesis establishes hypothesis about determinants of social welfare expenditure categorizing factors such that population factor, economic factor, and fiscal factors. The results of this empirical analysis supports the research hypothesis about aged population, the area of retail shop, financial independence rate, and financial autonomy rate. But we don't find a statistic evidence to support the hypothesis about GRDP, population, the ground area of building permission, the number of manufacturing entity, manufacturing sales, the local tax amount and number of car registration. Meanwhile, the results can't support the hypothesis about the value of and the number of service entity. Our empirical results are summarized as followings. Firstly, The number of aged people in the Busan's autonomous local entities has some positive influences on the social expenditureof local government. The elasticities range from 0.5 to 1.6. It shows a little high elastic responses of social expenditure from the aged people's demands. , and Secondly, financial independence rates have positive influences on the social expenditure. The elasticities range from 0.15 to 0.45. This results may be closely related to the fact that the more self-sufficient entities should deliver more supports to the citizen living within their districts because of more taxes from their citizens using the socia spendings derived their governmental budgets. Thirdly, the financial autonomy rates have negative influences on the social expenditure. The elasticities range from -0.40 to -1.72. This results show the possibility that more autonomous local entities may use their resources to the activities of less priority instead of urgent social expenditures using their autonomy to attract the more citizens in their favors, which will contribute to the next public elections of the governmental officials. Fourthly, the areas of retail shops have positive influences on the social expenditure. The elasticities range from 0.05 to 0.21. This finding is compatible with the logic that the commercial activities are closely related to more demands from the more citizens. Fifthly, the number of service companies has negative influences on the social expenditure. The elasticities range from -0.30 to -0.72. This results have the meaning that metropolitan areas of Busan have faced the more serious disparity between downtown areas and suburban areas because of the aggravated income distribution. The final comment about policy implication of the research is that our empirical study confirms the economic factor as an important determinants of social welfare expenditure and suggests strategic measures to revitalize both social welfare and economy. And it also suggests that our society needs to improve the more equitable allocation of financial resources use by the local government and to keep local governments from moral hazard problems using the citizens' voting power. The weakness of the research is that it uses short time series data about 2008โˆผ2015 to constitute panel data. Thus complementary research is needed to do more thorough and comprehensive analysis.|๋ณธ ์—ฐ๊ตฌ์˜ ๋ชฉ์ ์€ ๋ถ€์‚ฐ๊ด‘์—ญ์‹œ ์ž์น˜๊ตฌยท๊ตฐ์„ ์ค‘์‹ฌ์œผ๋กœ ์‚ฌํšŒ๋ณต์ง€ ์ง€์ถœ์˜ ๊ฒฝ์ œ์  ๊ฒฐ์ •์š”์ธ์„ ๋ถ„์„ํ•˜๊ณ  ์ง€๋ฐฉ์ž์น˜๋‹จ์ฒด์˜ ์‚ฌํšŒ๋ณต์ง€ ์ง€์ถœ์˜ ํšจ์œจ์  ์ถ”์ง„์„ ์œ„ํ•œ ์ด๋ก ์ ยท์ •์ฑ… For acute renal failure, hypotension after surgery or trauma was the most important and direct causitive factor, and septicemia and hapatorenal syndrome also seemed to be responsible. 5 cases were treated with peritoneal dialysis. Among 14 patients, three of olguric type were alive and 11 failed to recover. The most of patients with hypotension died within 48 hours after acute renal insufficiency was documented. 40% of patients treated with peritoreal dialysis were recovered.restrictio

Objectives Failure of Class V restorations is affected by various factors. Among the factors, repeated occlusal force is also have effect. Composite resin and glass ionomer are popularly used for class V restoration. The aim of this study was to measure the bonding strength of composite resin and glass ionomer in class V restoration and to examine the effects that repeated load had on the bond strength. 2. Material and Methods Samples were made by cow`s tooth (size:7mm*2mm*15mm). Hemi-circle shaped cavity was formed at 7-8mm height of sample and diameter was 3mm. Samples divided by four groups. Group IComposite resin restoration, no repeated load cycle. Group IIComposite resin restoration, repeated load cycle. Group IIIGlass ionomer restoration, no repeated load cycle. Group IVGlass ionomer restoration, repeated load cycle. Composite resin and glass ionomer restoration were performed by conventional method. Bond strength was measured by universal machine and fatigue test machine was used for load cycling. Indipendent t-test and two-way ANOVA were used for statistic analysis. 3. Results Compared to the group I,II,III,IV, bond strength of Group I was highest and that of Group IV was lowest(Group I73.91N Group IV12.01N). The presence of repeated load cycling was reduced the bond strength of restoration(p<0.05). And bond strength of composite resin was higher than that of glass ionomer(p<0.05). Between restoration material and load cycling, there were interaction(p<0.05). 4. Conclusions It was found that the presence of an repeated occlusal force reduced the bond strength of restoration, which in exert tension around the buccal class V cavity. No difference resistance for load cycling between composite resin and glass ionomer restoration.1.Introduction 2.Material and Methods 3.Results 4.Discussion 5.Conclusion 6.ReferenceMaste

๋ˆ.Introduction: As a biologic agent, vaccine needs to be kept in a strictly controlled environment. Varicella vaccine is one of the heat-sensitive vaccines that the cold chain is essential to maintain its potency. It has been over ten years since the varicella vaccine was mandatory for universal immunization in Korea. Despite the high rate of varicella immunization, the incidence of varicella in Korea has been increasing annually and recent studies reported that the effectiveness of varicella vaccination in Korea was lower than previously reported. There are concerns about the possibility of reduced viral concentrations of varicella vaccines due to the cold chain problem during the transportation and storage of vaccines. However, studies on the vaccine cold chain in Korea is still limited. We aimed to evaluate the vaccine cold chain at healthcare centers and vaccine clinics in Korea and the viral concentrations of varicella vaccines stored at medical institutions. Methods: The current status of refrigerators for vaccine storage at medical institutions entrusted for varicella immunization was surveyed. The temperature of vaccine storage refrigerators at public health centers and private medical institutions were monitored for two weeks by using a digital data logger. After the analysis of temperature records of the refrigerators, the medical institutions were divided into three groups according to the refrigeratorsโ€™ performance. The viral titers of varicella vaccines that had been stored in the refrigerators at each group of medical institutions were evaluated. A plaque forming assay was used for the assessment of viral concentrations of varicella vaccines. Results: We surveyed the vaccine refrigerators of 38 public health centers and 2,200 private medical institutions. The major refrigerator types at public health centers were the purpose-built units(85.2%), whereas household units(38.1%) and commercial refrigerators(36.0%) were commonly used at private medical institutions( P < 0.001). Continuous temperature monitoring of the refrigerators for two weeks showed that only 30.6% (26/85) of refrigerators maintained optimal temperatures ranging 2 to 8โ„ƒ. By the type of refrigerators, purpose-built units showed a lower proportion of temperature excursion than household and commercial refrigerators(P = 0.039). Household refrigerators had higher rates of temperature records below 2โ„ƒ(P = 0.002). Commercial refrigerators had an average temperature of 7โ„ƒ, which was higher than other refrigerators, and showed higher rates of temperature records above 8โ„ƒ (P = 0.004). Varicella vaccines which had been stored for more than a month were retrieved from 13 public health centers and 14 private medical institutions, and viral titers were determined by plaque assay. The viral titers of each varicella vaccines varied at 911 โ€“ 9,734 pfu/0.5 mL. Particularly, among the vaccines with the same lot number, there were substantial differences in viral titers. The viral titers of the varicella vaccine obtained from the public health centers were higher than those from the private medical institutions(P = 0.030). The relation between viral titers and type of refrigerators or temperature records was not elucidated in this study. Conclusions: This study proved that the vaccine cold chain at healthcare centers and vaccine clinics in Korea was not properly maintained. Majority of private medical institutions used household or commercial refrigerators that were frequently out of optimal temperature. We found that the viral titers of varicella vaccines stored in medical institutions were very diverse and some vaccines exhibited low titer than expected. Further research is necessary to evaluate whether the lower titer of varicella vaccine is due to suboptimal maintenance of the cold chain in Korea.
