The supply of Korean angelica (Angelica gigas Nakai) does not satisfy social demand, because environments are different in each cultivation site and the contents of useful components are variable depending upon weather conditions. Thus, this study seeks to identify the environmental factors affecting Korean angelicas root growth and contents of useful root components in natural habitats and cultivation sites, to establish a database for selecting optimal cultivation condition. This study investigated the natural habitats of 17 Korean angelica communities on Mt. Jeombong, Mt. Chiak, and Mt. Gariwang. Additionally, 18 cultivation sites in Pyeongchang, Jecheon, and Bonghwa were investigated and the environmental factors of cultivation sites were compared with that of natural habitats. For environemtnal factors, the monthly mean temperature, air humidity, daylight hours, precipitation, soil acidity, and soil nutrient characteristics were investigated over the growing season of April to October, 2017. For the growth characteristics, both the fresh and dry weights of the aerial parts and roots of Korean angelicas were measured. The specimens were dried by hot-air at 35~40โ„ƒand the optimal analytical method with UPLC conditions was used to analyze useful components of nodakenin, decursin, and decursinolangelate in percentages. Korean angelicas natural habitats were distributed in concave terraces in valleys at 750-1,130 m above sea level where caopy was closed, valleys without high trees, and terrains near forest roads that were favorable for the accumulation of organic matters. The cumulative temperature of the natural habitats ranged from 3,092 to 3,592 โ„ƒ using 5 โ„ƒ criteria. The soil texture of natural habitats was silt loam. The soil had 14.0 ยฑ 8.7% of organic matter content, 0.7 ยฑ 0.4% of total nitrogen content, 35.0 ยฑ 19.4 mg/kg of available phosphate content, and a cation exchange capacity of 17.0 ยฑ 4.1 cmolc kg-1. The dry root weight of Korean angelicas in the cultivation sites was averaged 167.9 g and significantly increased under the condition of low temperature and long days. The cultivation site at the highest altitude was located at 674 m above sea level in Pyeongchang and the cumulative temperature was 3,123 โ„ƒ. Its soil texture was loam, containing 6.9 ยฑ 1.9% of soil organic matter content, 0.4 ยฑ 0.1% of total nitrogen content, 1,121.3 ยฑ 382.0 mg/kg of available phosphate content, and a cation exchange capacity of 14.8 ยฑ 2.6 cmolc kg-1. Genetic diversity in the natural habitats was lower than that in the cultivation sites, because cross-breeding occurred in the geographically isolated groups. Genetic exchange took place among various individuals in neighboring groups, leading to a higher genetic diversity within the groups and lower variations between the groups. The sum of the contents of three marker components, including nodakenin, in the natural habitats was 8.3-11.1%, which was higher than the 5.3-7.0% of the cultivation sites. The nodakenin contents was 1.0 ยฑ 0.2% and 0.9 ยฑ 0.3% in the natural habitats and cultivation sites, respectively. The decursin contents was 3.7 ยฑ 0.7% and 3.4 ยฑ 1.1% in the natural habitats and cultivation sites, respectively. In addition, the decursinolangelate contents was 4.4 ยฑ 1.2% and 2.5 ยฑ 0.9%, in the natural habitats and cultivation sites, respectively. The correlation analysis for each component found that the decursin contents was high in the groups with high soil nutrients and high Ca and Mg ion contents in the natural habitats, as the gravel contents became lower in cultivation sites. While decursinolangelate had a high correlation with the gravel contents in the cultivation sites, the nodakenin contents was high in the cultivation sites with higher monthly air temperatures and shorter day-lengths. The sum of nodakenin, decursin and decursinolangelate, which are the marker components of Korean angelica, should be at least 6.0% according to the Korean Pharmacopoeia standards for herbal medicine. However, the contents of the components in Korean angelica cultivated in South Korea often fall below 6.0%, due to weather conditions and cultivation site characteristics, making the plants unmarketable for raw material for functional foods. This study concludes that the root yields and contents of effective components in the cultivation sites would be improved if the exchangeable cation contents (Mg, Ca) and weather conditions are maintained as similar level as those in the natural habitats.

Since the 2000s in a large park, the users consume the space on their own way unlike simply using the space. Visiting the park is defined as consumption of the space, the concept of general consumption is to look for satisfaction through activities to use benefits of goods. In addition, they might give a new value and take meaning through a user's specific actions in the space. Research based on Seonyudo Park is assumed the space extended the notion of 'consumption' which is one of the most important character of modern society. Seonyudo Park is island-type park, located within Han river. It has many historical and cultural context and has different spatial structure, location, purpose of visit and behavior from the general neighborhood park. If so what is the transition of consumption of space on Seonyudo Park? The study will discuss appropriateness of introducing Lefebvres theory to widen the level of perception toward parks as social spaces. Users behaviors occurred in Seonyudo Park can be regarded as one of productive processes, which can be identified as a case for the concept of the production of space later. Consumption of space is the keyword to read the space of the fast-paced contemporary modern society space under awareness that urban space is produced the results between social relations. This is a way for discussion about space in the social relations of space itself to overcome an abstract of the study area or a phenomenological point of view. Lefebvre referred to the space of contemporary society is produced in the process of the interaction of Spatial Practice, Representations of Space and Spaces of Representation and the process in the capitalist mode of hegemony. The everyday life is structured and the real world is same, fragmented and hierarchical based on 'Spatial Practice' and 'Representations of Space'. This 'space of representation' is the process the everyday full of passive experiences turned to practice space with resistance, difference. The step is they turned to an active subjects of space. Methods of research are as follows: conclude the characteristic of the park that have special purpose and figure out the keywords of 'consumption of space' in park. Use the keyword of consumption in the park, research methods were used such as documentary survey, interviews and analysis of web-image. At first, the site was beautiful natural landscape 'Seonyu-mountain'. and next it was turned to 'Seonyu water purification plants' and finally renovated into Seonyudo park. In the first step Seonyudo Park had the purpose of 'spatial practice', but in the design process the park reproduced the potential of the space turned to 'spaces of representation'. Since then the users consumed with in a number of different ways. Features of consumption of the space in the goal-oriented park is temporality, liminal space, imagification of space , and use nomadic using, the process of self-production. This is a process that uses a variety of landscapes which properties and morphological characteristics of Seonyudo park itself appears. Derived by integrating the above factors consumption of space in Seonyudo park can be summarized as follows. First, a number of ways of using the space appeared variable the subject and the users in the design process. Second, the opposite tendency shows mixed pattern of space consumption. Third, further intensified the turn of the late 2000s as an aspect, the park space use and space utilization nomadic space uses and immediate reproduction. Of course, The matter that the above-mentioned characteristics are common phenomena occurring in the contemporary urban park or not and lack of consideration about the conditions and circumstances in each park can be referred to the limitation of this study. However, as mentioned Lefebvre, understanding of space will become the process of identifying their characteristics as a user. Also the study on the Transition of consumption of space in Seonyudo Park is practical case to develop strategies in real world.Maste
