Fluctuation of Real-Estate Values and Korean Elections in the 2000s

한국 선거에서는 경제투표에 대한 연구는 세 가지 방법론적 난점들을 안고 있는데, 그것은 지역주의 통제의 문제와 경제적 변수 측정의 문제, 동태적 관점의 부재 등으로 요약될 수 있다. 본 연구는 새로운 데이터와 방법론의 도입을 통해 이러한 한계를 극복하고 한국선거의 연구영역을 넓히려는 시도이다. 그 해결책의 하나로써 본 연구는 중범위 집합데이터의 적극적 활용이 필요함을 주장하며, 분석의 한 예로 부동산 가격 변동이 2000년대 한국의 선거에 미친 영향을 살펴본다. 보다 구체적으로, 본 연구는 표준정당충성도의 개념을 도입하여 지난 선거들에서 이어지는 장기적 경향을 통제한 후, 부동산 가경의 변동이 선거에 어떤 단기적 영향을 미치는가를 살펴본 결과 다음의 결론에 다다랐다. 첫째, 자가 소유자들은 비소유자들보다 부동산 가격 상승에 대해 정부 여당을 적극적으로 보상하는 경향이 잇는 반면, 둘째, 비소유자들은 부동산 가격 상승을 정부 여당에 대한 처벌로 연결시키는 데에는 소극적이다. 셋째, 이런 패턴은 대통령 선거나 국회의원 총선 등의 전국적 선거에서 더 강하게 드러나고 지방선거에서는 덜 나타나며, 넷째, 정당명부에 대한 비례대표 선거에서는 보다 더 정파적인 지지를 보내면서 경제적 고려는 덜 하는 것으로 나타났다. The literature on economic voting in Korea generally suffers from three methodological difficulties: namely, how to control for the regional voting pattern that has dominated Korean elections; how to measure the relevant economic variables; and how to consider and incorporate the dynamic aspect of elections. These difficulties are indeed general dilemmas that are directly related with how survey data sets are collected and organized. I propose an empirical model that can overcome such difficulties utilizing "mid-range" aggregate analysis which combine electoral returns, the fluctuation of real-estate values, and the ownership structure of the electorate. The results show that the Korean voters tho own households tend to reward the incumbent party more actively when real-estate values rise, while non-owners are less active in punishing the incumbent party and its candidates. Korean voters also recognize and differentiate high-profile elections against lower-profile or local elections: they tend to weigh the economic situation more heavily in presidential and national assembly elections; on the other hand, the results show that economy matters less in local elections. As the paper exemplifies, I argue that more important issues and research agendas can be tackled by the literature when we expand our methodological scope in studying Korean elections

(The) comparison of effect of intravitreal bevacizumab injection according to the injection interval f

의학과/석사[한글] 연령관련황반변성에 의한 맥락막신생혈관에서 혈관내피성장인자의 단클론성중합항체인 bevacizumab은 유리체강내 주사로 사용되어 병변 및 시력향상에 도움이 되지만 아직 명확한 치료지침이 정해지지 않았다. 이에 저자들은 연령관련황반변성에 의한 맥락막신생혈관 환자에서 유리체강내 bevacizumab 반복주입시 시행간격에 따른 효과를 최대교정시력 및 중심망막두께를 조사하여 비교하고자 하였다. 후향적 의무기록고찰을 통하여 유리체강내 bevacizumab 주입술을 3회 이상 시행한 연령관련황반변성에 의한 맥락막신생혈관 환자를 대상으로 각각 주입간격이 4주인 군을 I군(22안), 6주인 군을 II군(17안), 8주인 군을 III군(13안)으로 하였다. 시술 전후 최대교정시력 및 빛간섭단층촬영상 중심망막두께의 호전정도를 조사하여 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는지를 알아보았다. 시술 후 최종 경과관찰 시점인 24주에 스넬렌 시력표상 I군과 II군에서 통계적으로 유의한 최대교정시력의 상승효과를 보였다(P=0.038, 0.041). 빛간섭단층촬영으로 측정한 중심망막두께는 II군에서 통계적으로 유의한 감소효과를 보였다(P=0.035). 유리체강내 주입한 bevacizumab의 반감기를 고려해 보았을 때, 시술 6주까지 맥락막신생혈관의 병변 및 최대교정시력이 호전되기 때문에 반복주입시의 주사간격은 4주 내지 6주 간격이 적절할 것으로 생각된다. [영문] Intravitreal Bevacizumab(Avastin？) injectin(IVBI), a recombinant monoclonal antibody for humam vascular endothelial factor(VEGF), has been used as an off-label treatment for choroidal neovasulari-zation(CNV) secondary to age-related macular degeneration(ARMD); our aim was to find out which interval of injection is optimum to obtain the improvement of visual acuity and central macular thickness for subfoveal CNV due to ARMD. The case material of this retro- spective study comprised three groups of patients with subfoveal CNV due to ARMD. Group I: IVBI of 4 week interval, group II: IVBI of 6 week interval, group III: IVBI of 8 week interval. Main outcome measures are pre and post operative best corrected visual acuity(BCVA) and central macular thickness(CMT) by optical coherence tomography(OCT) III. The BCVA of the group I and II at 24 weeks after IVBI revealed statistically significant visual improvement(P=0.038,0.041). The postoperative CMT of the group II showed statistically significant change(P=0.035). Considering the interval of IVBI, our study is suggesting the optimum injection interval of IVBI for ARMD is 4 or 6 week.ope

Framing the Issue of Economic Democracy during the 18th Presidential Election: A Survey Experiment

본 연구는 제18대 대선에서 논의되었던 경제민주화와 관련된 쟁점들 중에서 복지예산의 규모, 비정규직 노동자의 정규직 전환, 대기업 순환출자 규제라는 세 가지 쟁점에 대한 유권자들의 선호를 실험설문(survey experiment)을 통해서 보다 자세하게 살펴본 다. 설문 응답자들을 두 그룹으로 나누어 각 이슈에 대해 상이하게 표현된 문항들을 제시하여 프레이밍(framing)에 의해서 정책 선호가 어떤 영향을 받는지, 그리고 프레이밍 효과의 매개변수는 무엇인지를 연구한다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유권자들의 경제민주화 쟁점들에 대한 정책 선호는 정책 쟁점이 어떤 프레임 하에서 제시되는가에 의해 상당한 영향을 받는다. 둘째, 프레이밍 효과가 유의미하게 존재하기는 하지만 정치적 성향, 즉 지지후보에 따른 선호의 차이에 비해 작다. 셋째, 정책쟁점과 응답자가 지지하는 후보가 누군가에 따라서 프레이밍 효과가 매우 다르게 차별적으로 나타나는 것으로 드러났다. We assess how issue framing affects voters preference on three economic issues that emerged during the 18th residential Election in Korea: (1) the welfare budget, (2) the contingent workers problem, and (3) regulation on cross-shareholding practices. We conduct a survey experiment where we vary the wording of questions integrating two competing issue frames for each policy debate. Respondents are randomly assigned to one of the two issue frame conditions. We examine whether issue framing significantly influences voters policy preference and identify the variables moderating framing effects. Our results clearly show that, depending upon how the policy debate is framed, voters preference changes significantly. Second, the magnitude of its effects is not however comparable to that of the candidate preference. Preparation of Chitin/Chitosan Nanoparticles by Electrospray

최근 의약학용 바이오 소재로 각광을 받고 있는 키틴과 키토산을 전기적인 힘을 이용하는 전기방사장치를 사용하여 미세입자 형태로 제조하였다. 키틴 또는 키토산 시료에 대하여 고분자 농도가 일정한 수준(사슬 간의 엉킴이 본격적 일어나는 농도) 이상에서는 초극세 섬유의 형태를 보였으며, 그 농도 이하에서는 비교적 균일하고 미세한 입자를 형성하였다. 키토산의 경우, 5% 초산 수용액에 녹여 4~5 wt%로 분사하였을 경우 200~400nm 크기의 미세입자를 제조할 수 있었다. 또한 농도가 증가할수록 입자의 크기가 커지면서 다소 불균일해지는 성향을 보였다. 수용성 글리콜 키토산은 분자량이 적기 때문에 높은 농도인 약 55 wt% 까지 미세입자가 생성되었다. 이 입자의 평균크기는 약 300­500 nm 정도를 나타내었다. 키토산을 초산 수용액에 녹여서 무수 아세트산으로 처리하여 얻어진 N­아세틸화 키틴의 경우에는 포름산에 농도별로 녹여 전기분사를 하였는데 7 wt% 이하에서 균일한 미세입자가 생성되었다. 따라서, 키틴이나 키토산의 미세입자를 제조하기 위해서는 용매에 따라 일정한 농도와 점도와의 관계곡선으로부터 사슬간의 엉킴현상에 의해 섬유상이 형성되지 않은 낮은 농도에서 전기분사를 실시하는 것이 무엇보다도 중요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다.과학기술부 나노핵심기반기술사
