A Study on the Age-Dependent Ketosis Induced by the Ketogenic Diet
Purpose:Ketogenic diet (KD) remains a therapy in search of explanation although it is an established treatment for patients with intractable epilepsy. It has been clinically proven more efficacious at younger ages, presumably because of the enhanced ability of the immature brain to extract and utilize ketone bodies. The study was designed to investigate whether ketosis induced by the KD is agedependent.
Methods:A KD ([fat]:[protein+carbohydrate] ratio of 4.3:1) was administered to male Sprague-Dawley rats for 3 weeks, while control animals were fed a standard rodent chow. Dietary treatment was initiated at either postnatal 3 or 12 weeks. Blood β-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) levels were assayed from blood obtained via the tail vein with the Keto-SiteTM reflectance meter and test cards on treatment day 21.
Results:Blood BHB levels in the KD-treated group were significantly higher than those in the control group in 3 week-old rats (4.18±0.62 [n=30] vs. 0.27±0.02 [n=30] mM, respectively; p<
0.0001) and 12 week-old rats (0.86±0.06 [n=30] vs. 0.22±0.02 [n=30] mM, respectively; p0.05).
Conclusions:The present study demonstrates that the KD induces more severe ketosis in younger rats. Behavior of Solid Particles in Liquid Phase Matrix during Transient Liquid Phase Bonding
본 연구에서는 Mo와 Fe 모재에 대해 액상소결한 삽입금속을 사용한 천이액상접합에서의 등온응고과정과 등온응고시에 일어나는 액상기지내의 고상입자의 거동에 대해 조사하였다. Mo/Mo-Ni/Mo계의 접합에서 삽입금속중의 Ni의 확산에 의해 모재에서는 재결정이 일어남과 함께 zigzag ?凰쩜? 복잡한 입계를 형성하였다. Fe/Fe-B/Fe계의 접합에서 등온응고과정은 액상기지내의 고상입자의 성장과 함께 모재와 삽입금속 계면에서의 계면의 성장에 의해 지배되었으나, Fe/Fe-P/Fe계의 접합에서는 모재와 삽입금속 계면에서 계면의 우선적인 성장에 의해 지배되었다.This study evaluated behavior of solid particles at the bonded interlayer of joints and homogenization process during TLP bonding of Mo and pure Fe with a liquid phase sintered insert metal. From the experimental results, isothermal solidification process was different from that of traditional TLP bonding. Recrystallization in the Mo base metal due to diffusion of Ni and zigzag migration of solid particle's grain boundary according to strain energy were observed at the Mo/Mo-Ni/Mo joint. In TLP bonding of Fe/Fe-B/Fe system, isothermal solidification process was controlled by growth of solid particles and migration of solid-liquid interface at the bonded interlayer of joint. 충남인적자원개발지원센터(센터장 백남훈)와 금강대학교(총장 김유혁)은 5월26일 오후2시 논산시 상월면 금강대학교 사이버강의실에서 「충남 노인인적자원개발의 방향과 과제」심포지엄을 개최했다.
이날 심포지엄에는 지역노인, 충남지역 해당공무원, 노인일자리사업 수행기관 대표 등 1백50여명이 참석한 가운데 열렸는데, 최근 사회 문제가 되고 있는 인구고령화 문제에 대해 전문가들의 주제발표에 이어 토론자의 토론이 있었다.
