    Sensitive fluorimetric determination of formaldehyde by the co-quenching effect of formaldehyde and sulfite on the fluorescence of tetra-substituted amino aluminium phthalocyanine

    A novel and sensitive fluorimetric method was developed for the determination of formaldehyde based on the co-quenching effect of formaldehyde and sulfite on the fluorescence of tetra-substituted amino aluminium phthalocyanine. Formaldehyde in the concentration range 0.040-1.19 mug ml(-1) can be determined with a limit of detection of 7.5 ng ml(-1). The relative standard deviation for nine replicate measurements of 80.0 ng ml(-1) formaldehyde is 1.8%. The method was applied to the analysis of real samples with satisfactory results

    基于四磺基铝酞菁(AlS4 Pc)在阳离子表面活性剂存在下发生诱导缔合而导致体系荧光猝灭,而在乙醇存在下AlS4 Pc解聚而使体系荧光恢复的原理,建立了测定白酒中乙醇含量的新方法。方法的线性区间为0.5%~90%(V/V)乙醇,检测限为0.48%(V/V)。本法已应用于实际酒样中乙醇的直接测定,结果满意。A new fluorimetric method was developed for the determination of ethanol in alcoholic beverage. The method is based on the principle that tetrasubstituted sulphonated aluminum phthalocyanine (AlS4Pc), a red-region fluorescent reagent, is induced to associate in the presence of cationic surfactant, cetyltrimehtylammonium bromide (CTMAB), thus its fluorescence is quenched, and then the aggregate is disaggregated by the addition of ethanol and the fluorescence is recovered. This method has a linear determination range of 0. 5% - 90. 0% (V/V), the detection limit is 0. 48% (V/V).     A rhodamine B thiospirolactone-based probe compound 1 namely 3 6 -bis(diethylamino)-3H-spiro[2-benzothiophene-1 9 -xanthene]-3-one has been successfully developed as a highly sensitive and selective fluorescent probe for imaging hypochlorous acid generated in human neutrophil cells The probe was found to display Off-On switching in its fluorogenic and chromogenic responses to HClO and this was suggested to result from the hypochlorous acid-induced rim-sow ring opening This probe displayed excellent performance in high sensitivity good selectivity for hypochlorous acid over other reactive oxygen species in biological pH condition rapid reactivity as well as high tolerance to autoxidation under light The probe has been successfully applied to detect HClO generated in living human neutrophil cells implying the probe might be a new efficient tool in detecting the roles of hypochlorous acid in biological systems (c) 2010 Elsevier B V All rights reservedNational Natural Science Foundation of China [20675067, 20835005]; Natural Science Foundation of Fujian Province of China [2008J0236
