〔資料紹介〕石井雅子撮影歌舞伎舞台写真デジタルデータ一覧（１）

　　The present paper is a catalogue of digitized photographs of the Kabuki stage taken by the photographer Ishii Masako. The Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Tokyo National Research Institute for Cultural Properties has in its collection 85 items of digitized photographs of the Kabuki stage taken by Ishii Masako that have been recorded as CD photos and 110 items from the “Collection of Photographs for Transmission of Kabuki” that have been digitized and recorded as CD-ROM by the Organization for the Preservation of Kabuki (OPK). Because these digitized data were difficult to be used in their condition, they have been transformed into a usable system from 2020 to 2021 and a booklet entitled “Digital Data Inventory of Kabuki Photos by Masako Ishii” has been made to keep the data in order

無形文化遺産の防災 ―これまでの東京文化財研究所の取り組みとその位置づけ―

　　In recent years the question of how intangible cultural heritage may be protected from disaster is a topic of interest both in Japan and abroad. From the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred in March 2011, the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage at the Tokyo National Research Institute for Cultural Properties has been continuing investigation related to the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage from disasters. The diverse topics undertaken may be categorized into the following: 1. Investigation of damaged intangible cultural heritage, 2. Compilation of records on intangible cultural heritage, 3. Construction of archives on intangible cultural heritage, 4. Sharing of information and construction of networks, and 5. Investigation overseas. In the present paper, the content of these investigations is delved into and the significance of each domestic and overseas movement is discussed critically. In addition, in comparison with international movements, investigation on the use of intangible cultural heritage (for example, traditional knowledge) for disaster risk management will be needed

〔資料紹介〕田辺尚雄の南洋調査ノート

The musicologist Tanabe Hisao conducted investigation of traditional music and dance of the South Sea Islands (Nanyo-gunto), what is now Micronesia, in 1934 on commission from Nanyo-cho, the then government office of the South Sea Islands. The Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage received from Tanabe’s surviving family a field notebook written by Tanabe during this investigation. An examination of the notebook revealed that most of its contents were excerpts from ethnographical materials concerning the South Sea Islands. Although there was very little entry about Tanabe’s own investigation, analysis of this notebook showed that Tanabe placed importance on ethnographical information that he collected in his investigation

地域の遺産をとらえる ―北海道道東地方の事例から―

　　Recently there is a movement to look at and protect, as heritage of a region, nature and culture that have been transmitted throughout Japan. The present paper deals with an example from east Hokkaido as one of such case studies and discusses its issues and future.　　Four autonomous bodies of east Hokkaido (Shibetsu-cho、Nemuro-shi, Bekkai-cho, and Rausucho) jointly nominated the “Story of the ‘Holy Land of Salmon’” to Japan Heritage in 2020. With “salmon” as common concept, this heritage includes the culture of both Ainu and Japanese people as its element. The attempt is deeply significant in that it aims to look at common heritage of the region which the Ainu and Japanese can share. There is possibility that heritage of a region can be employed as a tool to realize harmonious existence of people of different ethnic groups

〔資料紹介〕木島正夫による青花紙製作の映像記録

Aobana-gami is a coloring material used in making the preliminary sketch for yuzen dyeing. It is made by dyeing washi (Japanese paper) with aobana , a kind of dayflower (Commelina communis L. var. hortensis Makino). It was produced in large amounts in the past but now its production is on the verge of disappearance. Recently, documentary films taken in 1963 and 1978 by Dr. Konoshima Masao, a scientist of natural medicine, on the production of aobana-gami were presented to the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage. They serve as valuable material in preserving the techniques for the production of aobana-gami which are about to be lost today

コロナ禍における無形文化遺産の情報収集・発信

　　The Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Tokyo National Research Institute for Cultural Properties has been collecting information, both domestic and overseas, widely since April 2020 on the influence of Covid-19 on intangible cultural heritage. Included among the collected information are: those associated with cancellation, postponement and re-opening of performances, exhibitions, religious rites and others; information regarding support (provisions, subsidies and others) by the nation, local governing bodies, private organizations and others; information about new attempts such as online communication of performances and exhibitions; and information related to conditions in various nations and attempts made by international organizations such as UNESCO.　　In the present paper, an outline of these attempts made from April to December 2020 is reported and their issues and future outlook are considered

〔資料紹介〕東京文化財研究所で実施した 講談実演記録の一覧（2002―2020年）

　　Tokyo National Research Institute for Cultural Properties has regularly been making recordings of performances of kodan (with focus on long repertory) since 2002. Following is a list of actual performances recorded from March 2002 to February 2020. The project is scheduled to be continued in the future. 　　Performances are recorded both audio-visually and stored at the Institute. Since the recordings are made for purposes of research and transmission, they are not for the time being intended to be made public. However, it is possible to access these recordings for the purposes mentioned above
