    Principle demonstration of the phase locking based on the electro-optic modulator for Taiji space gravitational wave detection pathfinder mission

    Weak-light phase locking is a key technology for Taiji space gravitational wave detection and its pathfinder mission. Previously, the phase locking was achieved by a complicated technique, which controls the frequency of the laser via a piezo-electric actuator (kHz range or more) and a temperature actuator (sub-Hz range). We propose an easy phase-locking strategy, which is based on the electro-optic modulator (EOM). Compared with the traditional way, this strategy only needs to modulate the driven voltage of the EOM, and the frequency bandwidth can cover all ranges. An experiment is also established to prove the feasibility of the method. The results show that the noises are &lt;80 mu rad/Hz(1/2) in frequencies from 0.2 to 1 Hz, and the thermal drift is the main noise source in our recent system.     中国物理海洋学研究70年:发展历程、学术成就概览

    本文概略评述新中国成立70年来物理海洋学各分支研究领域的发展历程和若干学术成就。中国物理海洋学研究起步于海浪、潮汐、近海环流与水团,以及以风暴潮为主的海洋气象灾害的研究。随着国力的增强,研究领域不断拓展,涌现了大量具有广泛影响力的研究成果,其中包括:提出了被国际广泛采用的"普遍风浪谱"和"涌浪谱",发展了第三代海浪数值模式;提出了"准调和分析方法"和"潮汐潮流永久预报"等潮汐潮流的分析和预报方法;发现并命名了"棉兰老潜流",揭示了东海黑潮的多核结构及其多尺度变异机理等,系统描述了太平洋西边界流系;提出了印度尼西亚贯穿流的南海分支(或称南海贯穿流);不断完善了中国近海陆架环流系统,在南海环流、黑潮及其分支、台湾暖流、闽浙沿岸流、黄海冷水团环流、黄海暖流、渤海环流,以及陆架波方面均取得了深刻的认识;从大气桥和海洋桥两个方面对太平洋–印度洋–大西洋洋际相互作用进行了系统的总结;发展了浅海水团的研究方法,基本摸清了中国近海水团的分布和消长特征与机制,在大洋和极地水团分布及运动研究方面也做出了重要贡献;阐明了南海中尺度涡的宏观特征和生成机制,揭示了中尺度涡的三维结构,定量评估了其全球物质与能量输运能力;基本摸清了中国近海海洋锋的空间分布和季节变化特征,提出了地形、正压不稳定和斜压不稳定等锋面动力学机制;构建了"南海内波潜标观测网",实现了对内波生成–演变–消亡全过程机理的系统认识;发展了湍流的剪切不稳定理论,提出了海流"边缘不稳定"的概念,开发了海洋湍流模式,提出了湍流混合参数化的新方法等;在海洋内部混合机制和能量来源方面取得了新的认识,并阐述了混合对海洋深层环流、营养物质输运等过程的影响;研发了全球浪–潮–流耦合模式,推出一系列海洋与气候模式;发展了可同化主要海洋观测数据的海洋数据同化系统和用于ENSO预报的耦合同化系统;建立了达到国际水准的非地转(水槽/水池)和地转(旋转平台)物理模型实验平台;发展了ENSO预报的误差分析方法,建立了海洋和气候系统年代际变化的理论体系,揭示了中深层海洋对全球气候变化的响应;初步建成了中国近海海洋观测网;持续开展南北极调查研究;建立了台风、风暴潮、巨浪和海啸的业务化预报系统,为中国气象减灾提供保障;突破了国外的海洋技术封锁,研发了万米水深的深水水听器和海洋光学特性系列测量仪器;建立了溢油、危险化学品漂移扩散等预测模型,为伴随海洋资源开发所带来的风险事故的应急处理和预警预报提供科学支撑。文中引用的大量学术成果文献(每位第一作者优选不超过3篇)显示,经过70年的发展,中国物理海洋学研究培养了一支实力雄厚的科研队伍,这是最宝贵的成果。这支队伍必将成为中国物理海洋学研究攀登新高峰的主力军

    森林作为陆地生态系统的主体,在全球陆地碳循环中起着决定性作用。实测和模型研究均表明北半球的森林是重要的大气CO2汇,在缓解全球碳收支失衡中发挥着关键作用。过去几十年北半球所经历的显著气候变化,已经很大地改变了陆地生态系统的碳平衡状况。随着未来100年气候变化继续增大,对未来气候变化下森林生态系统碳平衡的预测研究就尤为重要。 北京山区森林属于典型的暖温带森林生态系统,前人对本区森林的植被特征、生态系统结构和功能、养分循环以及长期动态变化等都进行了深入的研究。然而长期的人类活动已使本区原生的地带性植被破坏殆尽。因此,对该区域森林生态系统碳平衡的模拟研究可以帮助我们认识其生态系统碳平衡变化特点及未来气候变化对其潜在的影响。 本研究采用LPJ-GUESS植被动态机理模型,利用IPCC于2000年发布的《排放情景特别报告》(SRES)的A2和B2两种情景下不同气候模式对华北地区未来100年温度和降水预测的平均值以及相应大气CO2浓度变化情景进行驱动,模拟北京山区未来100年暖温带森林生态系统的净初级生产力和碳平衡,尽可能真实地反映未来百年的变化趋势。通过比较当前和未来气候情景下北京山区以辽东栎(Quercus liaotungensis)为优势种的落叶阔叶林、以白桦(Betula platyphylla)为主的落叶阔叶林和油松(Pinus tabulaeformis)为主的针阔混交林三种典型暖温带森林生态系统的碳平衡差异,了解未来北京山区这三种暖温带森林生态系统的碳源汇功能,认识气候变化和大气CO2浓度升高对净初级生产力(Net primary productivity, NPP)、净生态系统碳交换(Net ecosystem exchange, NEE)、土壤异养呼吸(Heterotrophic respiration, Rh)和碳储量(Carbon biomass, C biomass)的影响,以及不同生态系统碳平衡对气候变化响应的异质性。 结果表明,未来100年两种气候情景下三种森林生态系统的NPP和Rh均增加,并且A2情景下增加的程度更大。由于三种生态系统树种组成的不同,未来气候情景下各自NPP和Rh增加的比例不同,导致三者NEE的变化也相异:100年后辽东栎林由碳汇转变为弱碳源,白桦林仍保持为碳汇但功能减弱,油松林成为一个更大的碳汇。三种森林生态系统的碳生物量在未来气候情景下均增大,21世纪末与20世纪末相比:辽东栎林在A2情景下碳生物量增加的比例为27.6%,大于B2情景下的19.3%;白桦林和油松林在B2情景下碳生物量增加的比例分别为34.2%和52.2%,大于A2情景下的30.8%和28.4%。各森林类型碳平衡状况不同,原因除气候因素外,主要是由于树种组成的差异所导致。SRES A2和B2两种气候情景相比,相对较低的排放情景(B2)下,生态系统有更高的碳储量

    Subcooled Pool Boiling at Microgravity: Preliminary Ground-Based Experimental Results

    A temperature-controlled pool boiling (TCPB) device was developed to perform pool boiling heat transfer studies at both normal gravity on Earth and microgravity in the drop tower Beijing and aboard a Chinese recovery satellite. Two platinum wires of 60 ?m in diameter were simultaneously used as heaters and thermometers. The lengths were 30 mm and 40 mm, respectively. The ends of wires were soldered with copper poles to provide low resistance paths for the electric current. The heater resistance, and thus the heater temperature, was kept constant by a feedback circuit similar to that used in constant-temperature hot-wire anemometry. The fluid was R113 at 0.1 Mpa and subcooled by 30 ?C nominally for all cases. The results of the experiments at normal gravity were presented. Four modes, namely single-phase convection, nucleate boiling, transition two-mode boiling, and film boiling were observed. A few data obtained from several preliminary experiments at microgravity in the drop tower Beijing were also presented. A slight increase of the heat flux was obtained

    空间引力波探测任务中,由于干涉臂臂长的巨大差异,激光频率不稳定噪声成为系统最大的噪声源之一。需采用Pound-Drever-Hall锁腔、锁臂和TDI(Time Delay Interferometer)技术三级联合,将此噪声压制到10~(-6)Hz~(1/2)量级,才能使得频率噪声低于散粒噪声。而实现TDI技术需要准确测量卫星间的绝对距离和星间通信。本文以空间引力波探测中的绝对距离测量和通信技术为背景,详细阐述此项技术的实现原理和方法。拟通过EOM(Electro-Optic Modulator)将测距伪随机码和通信码调制至主激光相位中,再传输至远端航天器。在远端航天器通过锁相环和延迟环组成的解调系统计算伪随机码的时间延迟,进而解析出卫星间的绝对距离和通信信息。相关结论可为未来的验证实验奠定理论和技术基础,同时为我国未来空间引力波探测的相关技术发展提供一定参考

    Linearity performance analysis of the differential wavefront sensing for the Taiji programme

    The Taiji programme is a Chinese space-based laser interferometer gravitational wave detection mission and the differential wavefront sensing (DWS) technique is introduced to reduce the effect of the laser pointing noise. As the distance between two adjacent satellites is about , the wavefront of the receiving beam is a flat top beam. In this paper, we construct an analytical model of the DWS signal under the circumstances of Gaussian beam-flat top beam interference and study the linearity performance. The position offset of the beams is found to greatly affect the linearity range. A numerical method is used to simulate the linearity range of the DWS signal under various operating conditions. The linearity range decrease with the increase of the offset angle of the Gaussian beam and the offset length of the flat top beam. The offset range of the beams based on the requirement of the Taiji is given at last

    太极计划激光指向调控方案介绍

    空间引力波探测中为实现引力波信号科学测量,卫星发射到预定轨道后需首先完成百万公里级激光链路的构建。同时为保证引力波信号不会被激光指向噪声淹没,激光指向稳定性需达到nrad/((Hz)~(1/2))量级。为此需设计一套复杂而精密的激光指向调控方案。本文以太极计划为背景,详细阐述了可采用的指向调控方案。拟将整个过程将分为两个阶段,首先进行激光捕获过程,在该过程中,使用星敏感器(STR)与电荷耦合器件(CCD)作为辅助捕获探测器,将激光指向不确定区域控制到μrad量级。之后进行激光精密指向过程,利用差分波前敏感测角(DWS)技术对激光指向稳定性进行控制。根据太极计划要求,对各阶段捕获探测器提出了视场及精度要求,并论述了采用DWS技术实现精密指向的可行性。相关结论可为未来的验证实验奠定理论基础,对太极计划指向系统构建提供参考

    Automatic, high-speed, high-precision acquisition scheme with QPD for the Taiji program

    Most of the space gravitational wave detection missions, such as the Taiji program, use space-based laser interferometer to sense the gravitational waves. However, to obtain the interference signal, the inter-satellite laser acquisition scheme is firstly required to establish the laser link. Traditional acquisition sensors are CCD cameras, which cause a serious heating problem and call for high alignment precision. To avoid these questions, a high-speed, high-precision, fully automatic acquisition scheme with quadrant photodetectors (QPD) is proposed in this paper. Incoherent measurement method of the QPD is introduced to fulfill high-speed acquisition, while a dedicated imaging system is involved for automatic acquisition. Also, an improved differential power sensing (DPS) signal is developed. Combined with the down-sampling algorithm and the match filter algorithm, the acquisition scheme can achieve 1 mu rad resolution with total scanning time less than 220 s.
