We reported a rare case of cemento-ossifying fibroma on the right jaw of an elderly person. A 66-year-old woman complained of gingival swelling in the right first and second small molar region. Radiographic examinations demonstrated a relatively well-demarcated radiolucent lesion that was continuous with the roots of the teeth and, contained small radiopaque spots. We enucleated the lesion under general anesthesia, and the final diagnosis was cemento-ossifying fibroma. We further discuss the mechanism underlying the development of this tumor in an elderly person

Aiming at the establishment of an organic combination system based on harmony with the environment, in which upland field farming and livestock farming are integrated, wheat straw, one of the local resources in upland farming areas, was set as the research object. Various kinds of tests on practical farm conditions were performed using a new straw ammonia treatment system named "Hokuno-S", in order to examine the effective use of straw by cattle. In long-term feeding tests to cattle at the test farms, the ammonia treatment wheat straw (ATS) was used. As a result, abnormalities not only in breeding and raising results but also in blood ingredients were not accepted. Intake of ATS was lower than that of grass silage. However, if the Japanese Black breeding cows are fed ad lib., they may become overweight. Thus, a certain amount of ATS to the cows was effective in maintaining the good body condition score. Fattening results of Japanese Black fed ATS were not lower compared with those fed timothy hay or corn silage as main roughage. And especially in the second half of fattening stage, the daily gain was higher. Feeding ATS to dairy heifer is accepted. However, since the intake of ATS is low in milking cows, mixed ration of ATS and other feedstuffs needs to be examined

Currents in Omura Bay(2) -Field Observation-

The changes at sea level and currents in Omura Bay are studied by field observation. Twelve observations were performed from winter to spring in 1989 and 1990. One observation period was over fifteen days. As for observing the changes at sea level, four main constituents of tide (M2, S2, Kr and Or) were analyzed by the harmonic analysis of tide using the least square method. A great part of the changes at sea level shows a very good estimate by these constituents. A change of the Seich with about 25~80 minutes period was also observed. As for observing the currents, the three components of current were discussed separately. First was the constant flow component (M0) which is a mean value of currents for the observed period. In the northern part of Omura Bay, there was a weak counter clockwise constant flow. The second was the tidal current. Four main constituents of tidal currents were analyzed by the same method employed in tide. Lastly, the residual flow was the remainder of the other components described above. The correlation between wind velocities and residual flows was analyzed. At great depth of Omura Bay, flows were observed to be 244° in a clockwise direction after 3 hours delay from wind blowing
