Apparent Parameters of Enzymatic Plate-Gap Electrode

    Get PDF
It was suggested that reaction-diffusion conditions in pores of bulk enzymatic electrode resemble particular conditions in thin enzyme filled gap between parallel conducting plates. The plate-gap model of porous enzymatic electrode is based on the diffusion equations containing a nonlinear term related to the Michaelis-Menten kinetics of the enzymatic reaction inside the gap. Steady state current was calculated for the wide range of given values of substrate diffusion coefficient, depth of the gap and substrate concentrations. Simple approximate relationships between “apparent” parameters of amperometric biosensor (maximal currents and apparent Michaelis constants) and given values of diffusion characterising parameters were derived. Association of these dependences with previously reported relationships led to derive approximate formulae that bind apparent parameters with the complete set of given parameters of the plate-gap enzymatic electrode. The limit case of slow diffusion into deep gap was also characterised. In this specific case, the highest numerical values of the apparent parameters were obtained. However, this gain is achievable at the expense of biosensor response time

Deep Foundation Modeling with Morh-Coulomb Model in Dense Sands with Dilatancy

The analysis of load distribution in deep foundations found in dense and indiscrete sand between base and shaft is considered in this paper. The availability of designing deep foundations in sand with dilatancy was studied with changing dilatancy angle. For design, Plaxis 3D Foundation v2 Morh-Coulomb model was used. Various load distributions between shaft and base were obtained when dilatancy angle varied from 0° to 5°. Skin friction increases significantly increasing dilatancy angle. However, in Mohr-Coulomb model, (drained conditions) soil will continue to dilate as long as shear deformations occurs. This error decreases in case relative foundation length L/D and dilatancy angle ψ decrease.

Article in Lithuanian
</div

**Original scientific paper Abstract: Probiotics are widely accepted as an alternative to in-feed antibiotics in poultry production. The objective of investigation was to research the effect of probiotic preparation YEASTURE-W for growth performance, meat and carcass quality of broiler chicks. The experiment was performed with 120 Hybro–PN broiler chickens 1−56-day-old, divided into 2 groups of 60 birds each. The both groups were fed crumbled feed mixtures ad libitum. The feed mixture of the experimental group was supplemented with probiotic preparation YEASTURE-W (2 kg/t feed). The birds were maintained on deep litter and watered from stationary watering containers. The results of experiments indicated, that probiotic preparation YEASTURE-W during all experiment period increased the weight of broiler chickens by 10 % (P<0.001) and decreased feed conversion ratio by 9% (P<0.005) comparing with control group. A probiotic showed a tendency to improve the carcass yield and improve the yield of edible parts of broiler chickens. The culinary and chemical properties of poultry became better

Influence of active surface materials for shear strength of clay soil / Paviršiaus aktyviųjų medžiagų įtaka molinių gruntų kerpamajam stipriui

The article deals with the active surface materials (ASM) on the clay soil shear strength parameters, which are used in calculating the building base strength and stability of soil pressure in to supporting surface and slope stability. From the known mineral composition of clay soil was partially removed calcium compounds and were polluted of different concentration of pollutants and the values were compared. The analysis of active surface material substance influence on clay soil shows that higher concetration of pollutants in solution results in decreased soil cohesion, where the angle of internal friction remains various values.
