In this thesis, to investigate the physical and mechanical properties of polymer materials in products cover rearview merc A and merc B. This study is divided into several stages. The first phase specimen procurement and manufacture of test specimens. Tests conducted in accordance with ASTM standards. Tensile strength test to ASTM D 638, hardness testing to ASTM D 2240 and the impact test with standard ASTM D 256. To determine the physical properties of the two products is done by testing SEM and EDS. The second stage of data processing, data analysis and discussion of research results. From the results of the research we concluded that the products cover rearview merc B has a tensile strength and higher hardness than products cover rearview merc A while for the impact rearview cover merc A higher than the rearview cover merc B value tensile strength rearview merc B amounted to 23,846 N/mm2, while the value of tensile strength rearview merc A amounted to 18,276 N/mm2 and strain value rearview merc B 13,333%. To view mirror merc A strain value of 14,667%. The test results impact on the mirror merc A of 36,450 J/mm2, while the hardness value of 64,50 Shore Hardness D. For the impact test results rearview merc B values obtained 34,349 J/mm2 and a hardness value of 66,60 Shore Hardness D. From the SEM images and EDS as well as from observations showed that the rearview merc B discount densities nicer than the rearview merc A. Purpose of the research was to know tensile strength, izod impact and hardness of ebonit-based material with varied jute fiber weights of 0 Phr, 30 Phr and 50 Phr and to know results of composite surface by using SEM (Scanning Electron microscopy) photograph. Material of the composite was ebonit strengthened with jute fiber that had been immersed in 5% NaOH for 2 hours. Then, process of rubber mix started. Natural rubber mixed with chemical substances and jute fiber by using a two-roll mill machine and the rubber was vulcanized by using mold press machine at 150oC. Test of the composite used standard ASTMD D-638-02 for tensile strength, ASTM D-256-00 for izod impact test and SNI 0778:2009 for hardness test. Results of the testing obtained the highest tensile strength of 32.84 N/mm2 for ebonit composite strengthened with 30 Phr jute fiber. Highest yield strength of 73% was found in ebonit composite with jute fibers of 50 Phr. Hardness test and izod impact test found highest values of 97.70 shore scale for hardness and 31.33 j/mm2 for izod impact in the ebonite composite with fiber jute of 30 Phr. Based on observation of SEM photographs, it can be concluded that each ebonite composite strengthened with jute fiber indicated air bubbles on surface of the composite that had been caused by very poor interfacial adhesion between the fiber and matrix

This research was conducted to know the mechanical properties of aluminum, brass and copper material by using brazing welding by using lap joint method. In this research the method used for this testing process is chemical composition test, micro photo test, and tensile test. The basic material used is aluminum plate, brass, and copper which is then welded brazing by joint lap joint method. Based on the research that has been done, the authors have obtained the test results. In the composition test made aluminum material contains some of the highest composition of Aluminum (Al) 97.41%, for brass material contains some composition that is copper (Cu) 64.2%, Zinc (Zn) 34.8%, while copper containing copper composition (Cu) 98.3%. At the tensile test conducted the higest strenght of brass with a value of 281,335 Mpa, The results of micro-photos obtained on Aluminium, Brass and Copper meterials have not changed the microstructure because the etching process has not been perfect, resulting in a micro photo test process that does not look at the micostructure

The use of environmentally friendly materials is getting serious attention from countries in the world today. One of them is the use of natural fibers, namely coconut fiber. This study was conducted to determine the physical and mechanical properties of single coconut fiber with alkaline NaOH treatment at the time of fiber immersion for 2 hours and with a concentration of 2.5%, 5% and 7.5% NaOH solution. In this study the method used for the process fiber testing was the tensile strength test of a single fiber and SEM to determine the shape of the surface morphology of the fiber without treatment and with the alkali treatment of NaOH. The selected coconut fiber is immersed in an alkaline solution for 2 hours with a solution concentration of 2.5%, 5% and 7.5% NaOH. Fiber drying process by drying in open space for 7 days. Fiber with 5% alkali treatment has the most tensile stress optimalis 136.091 Mpa. So the treatment of NaOH increases the tensile stress on the fiber. In the test Scaning Electron Microscope (SEM) results of fibers with the treatment of 7.5% NaOH concentration optimally can clean lignin and hemicellulose attached to the fiber surface

Definition of welding according to Deutche Inustrie Normon (DIN) is a metallurgical bond on a metal or alloy metal connection in a melted or liquid state. The use of welding techniques is very broad in steel building construction and machine construction. The extent of the use of welds is caused by the construction made with the technique of connecting these welds to be lighter, the manufacturing process is simpler so that the overall cost is cheaper compared to the connection in other ways. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical and mechanical properties of butt joint joints in carbon steel material with SMAW welding which is usually used in the community. Welding is carried out using different currents namely 65 Ampere, 80 Ampere and 95 Ampere with a diameter of 2.6 mm electrode. For 80 amperes the highest tensile strength is 48.43 kgf / mm². For the highest hardness value is found in the weld area with a current of 95 Ampere with a value of 177HVN. The higher the current, the greater the value of hardness, but each electrode also has a maximum limit of current usage. If it exceeds the limit it will be difficult when welding. From the results of micro photographs it is found that the greater the current value, the greater the size of the grain. Technological developments in the field of building construction machinery and industries that are increasingly advanced cannot be separated from the use of welding. Welding GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) or commonly referred to as TIG welding is welding using an electric arc produced from electrodes that do not participate in melting made of tungsten. Aluminum is a material that can not be separated from the field of machine manufacturing and construction of buildings, while brass and copper are the 2 main ingredients that are often used as construction machinery and industrial materials. This study aims to determine the mechanical properties of GTAW welding on aluminum, brass and copper joints. Tests carried out are chemical composition testing, tensile testing and metallographic testing. From the test results show that Aluminum material contains composition (Al), (Zn), (Cr), brass material containing composition (Cu), (Zn), (Al), and for copper containing composition (Cu). (Sn), and (Zn). The optimum strength of the welded joint occurs in Brass material with an average value of 254.9923 MPa which occurs in the base metal due to the weld metal cross-sectional area is greater than the base metal. While the results of metallographic testing (micro photo) changes in the microstructure in the weld section, for the HAZ area and base metal areas there is no significant change in microstructure

This study aims Knowing the results of the macro image on the variation of fiber 20 phr and 40 phr and calculating the void area on the SEM images on a variety of hemp fiber weight 20 phr and 40 phr. The manufacture of composite materials are flax fibers as reinforcement and rubber ebonite as matriknya , the result of the fracture of composite ebonite analyzed by the macro image to see the fault that occurred and testing SEM photograph to see voids in the composite ebonite with magnification 5000x. The results were obtained based on the analysis of the macro image fault is the fault of clay . That has a fracture uneven , fiber appears out ( fiber pull out) or filamentous which makes its price steeper. At 20 phr variation flax fibers are void area of 231.695 mm2 with 5000x magnification , In this variation there is a side section void almost evenly between the particles . The cause of void on the variation is caused by the influence of particles or elements less homogenous material . Thus causing voids. Whereas in hemp fibers 40 phr variations are void of 193.605 mm2 with 5000x magnification . The occurrence of void in this variation is so small because at this variation parikelnya bond together with fiber
