KAJIAN PENCEMARAN UDARA AKIBAT KEGIATAN INDUSTRI DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP KESEHATAN LINGKUNGAN MASYARAKAT SEKITAR KAWASAN INDUSTRI TANJUNG UNCANG, KOTA BATAM PROPINSI KEPULAUAN RIAU

This research is a study of air pollution and dust for Pb parameters due to industrial activities and their effects on health of communities around the industrial area of Tanjunguncang ,Batam Riau Islands Province . The purpose of this study is 1 ) Assess and Pb concentrations of dust in the air and in the blood ( Pb ) emissions due to industrial activities in the industrial area of Tanjunguncang, 2 ) Assess the perception of the community about the effect of emissions from industrial activities in the industrial area of Tanjunguncang on the quality of the surrounding environment , 3 ) Assessing environmental management strategies in the industrial area of Tanjunguncang . The method used in the study is a survey method , the object of study is the air quality for the parameters Pb and dust , and health / blood Pb contents in communities around the industrial area of Tanjunguncang . Air sampling is purposive sampling . Descriptive data were analyzed qualitatively . The results showed that the air quality around the industrial area of Tanjung kitbag for Pb parameter shows all sample sites still have a value below based on the Indonesian Government Regulation No. 41 Year 1999 on Air Pollution Control , while the dust parameters showed almost all sample sites exceeded quality standards . Ninety percent ( 90 % ) of respondents in Reed Island found contamination resulting from the shipyard industry in the area of Tanjunguncang industry is polluting , dangerous and disturbing public . Environmental management strategies of air quality around the industrial area of Tanjunguncang is through technological approach , approach to compliance and enforcement , regulatory approaches , and monitoring approach
