EVALUASI STRATEGI PT XL AXIATA, TBK DALAM MENGHADAPI PERSAINGAN INDUSTRI PADA ERA MOBILE DATA SERVICE (MDS)
Nowadays. Indonesia�s telecommunication industry is in maturity condition.
In fact, there are difficulties in its member to grap revenue growth despite the
increment of its subscriber. The advance of internet technology or Mobile Data
Service (MDS) already gives an opportunity to telecommunication companies to
increase their revenue. The question is whether XL Axiata able to exploit the
advantages of this condition with their current strategy?
The main purpose of this research is to evaluate the current strategy of XL
Axiata, to analize the internal environment of the company and external environment
of Indonesia�s telecommunication industry, so we can get conclusion whether the
company�s strategy is still adequate to implemented in Mobile Data Service (MDS)
era and give us alternative strategy to improve the company�s competitive ability in
Indonesia telecommunication industry.
To evaluate how well is the company�s present strategy working, indicator
such as sales increment, subscriber growth compared with their rival, until how good
is the company�s brand image is used. The internal strength and weakness analysis is
used to capturing best opportunity and defends against the threat, so the company can
crafting good strategy that capitalizes on company�s resources. The External analysis
such as economic dominant feature, Porter five forces of competition, driving forces
analysis, Key Success Factor analysis and Strategic Group Map, is used to maximize
company�s opportunity, minimize company�s threat and increase the opportunity to
win the competition in industry
EVALUASI STRATEGI BISNIS PUTRI DUYUNG ANCOL Transformasi Resort Hotel Menjadi Resort Bisnis
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the business strategy of Putri Duyung
Ancol, by performing an analysis of strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities of
Putri Duyung Ancol. This research is also evaluate the business resort strategy that
currently exist and seek alternative strategies to boost the performance of Putri Duyung
Ancol.
The method that is used are the analysis of various external and internal factor.
The external environment analysis includes analysis of industry characteristics, five forces,
driving forces, strategic group map, and key success factors to determine the opportunities
and threats that will arise in the middle class hotels industry in Jakarta. The internal
environment analysis includes analysis of Putri Duyung Ancol,s marketing, finance, human
resources, and operations to determine it�s strengths and weaknesses. Both of those
analysis above will be conducted to a SWOT analysis as a basis for determining the best
strategies that can be taken by the Putri Duyung Ancol.
After the analysis is done, it can be concluded that Putri Duyung Ancol�s strategy
to evolve toward the resort business is right, but cost saving to reduce operating costs by
reducing the facility that�s provided to travellers is not quite right, because it will make
downgrade to Putri Duyung Ancol �s class. With potential that exists at Putri Duyung
Ancol, it can change into exclusively business class resort, with the new new strategies.

EVALUASI STRATEGI BERSAING PT. TELKOMSEL DALAM MEMPERTAHANKAN POSISI MARKET LEADER
The study aims to evaluate the competing strategy opted by PT Telkomsel in the
midst of the fierce competition in telecommunication industry marked by inter-operator tariff
war in penetrating new business apart from its core business, which are voice calls and short
text messages.
The analysis methods used in this research include the company�s internal-external
analysis, SWOT analysis, and selection of best fitted strategy. The company�s characteristic
highlighted in this study are the market share and the industry growth, the widened range of
rivals' competitiveness, the required investment for new business compared with the value of
economies of scale, supported by the cellular industry growth rate, the limited number of
strong competitors, technological change, and the opportunities for the company perform
vertical integration.
From Porter�s 5-Forces analysis, it can be concluded that the the strongest intensity
level is in the intensity of industry competition and bargaining power of buyers, while the
threat of entry of newcomers and power suppliers are at the lowest intensity level.Key success
factorin the writing of this thesis includes the fulfillment of basic five parameters of cellular
users in Indonesia, namely: wide range of network deployment, deliver quality network
supported by the latest technology, product innovation and service, customer service
standards of the ISO international quality, and reasonable rates
A suggestion from the analysis is the requirement fro the telecommunication company
to undergo a business transformation, ie to data services and internet business. This has been
initiated by Telkomsel as the market leader in the Indonesian telecommunication industry.
Telkomsel is preparing to enter into a new business, the data services and Internet business.
The percentage of the new business contribution to total business has increased. In 2010 the
percentage was 7%, in 2011 became 13%. This shows thatTelkomsel has transformed its
business properly, because it has more than doubled from the previous year
