Etude expérimentale de la dissolution des matrices hydrophiles complexes à base d'hypromellose et de principes actifs

National audienceL'influence de l'hypromellose ainsi que des liants sur le relargage du principe actif dans les matrices hydrophiles a été largement étudié. Mais ces études se limitent à des systèmes binaires (hypromellose et principe actif) ou ternaires (hypromellose, principe actif et liant). De plus, l'utilisation dans les formulations de mélanges d'hypromellose est assez peu étudiée. Aussi une étude de la cinétique de dissolution de comprimés à libération retardée issus de mélange de complexité croissante a été entreprise. En effet, l'adjonction de l'hypromellose au principe actif dans une formulation permet d'avoir une libération retardée. Mais généralement la formulation d'un comprimé pharmaceutique est bien plus complexe avec la présence de liant et de charge. Ce travail a permis d'essayer d les influences relatives des excipients sur les profils de libération du principe actif

Passive Versus Active Tuberculosis Case Finding and Isoniazid Preventive Therapy Among Household Contacts in a Rural District of Malawi.

SETTING: Thyolo district, rural Malawi. OBJECTIVES: To compare passive with active case finding among household contacts of smear-positive pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) patients for 1) TB case detection and 2) the proportion of child contacts aged under 6 years who are placed on isoniazid (INH) preventive therapy. DESIGN: Cross-sectional study. METHODS: Passive and active case finding was conducted among household contacts, and the uptake of INH preventive therapy in children was assessed. RESULTS: There were 189 index TB cases and 985 household contacts. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) prevalence among index cases was 69%. Prevalence of TB by passive case finding among 524 household contacts was 0.19% (191/100000), which was significantly lower than with active finding among 461 contacts (1.74%, 1735/100000, P = 0.01). Of 126 children in the passive cohort, 22 (17%) received INH, while in the active cohort 25 (22%) of 113 children received the drug. Transport costs associated with chest X-ray (CXR) screening were the major reason for low INH uptake. CONCLUSIONS: Where the majority of TB patients are HIV-positive, active case finding among household contacts yields nine times more TB cases and is an opportunity for reducing TB morbidity and mortality. The need for a CXR is an obstacle to the uptake of INH prophylaxis

Optimal Portfolio Allocation under Asset and Surplus VaR Constraints

In this paper we propose an approach to Asset Liability Management of various institutions, in particular insurance companies, based on a dual VaR constraint for the asset and the surplus. A key ingredient of this approach is a flexible modelling of the term structure of interest rates leading to an explicit formula for the returns of bonds. VaR constraints on the asset and on the surplus also take tractable forms, and graphical illustrations of the impact and of the sensitivity of these constraints are easily explicited in terms of various parameters: share of stocks, duration and convexity of the bonds on the asset and liability sides, expected return and volatility of the asset...Asset Liability Management, interest rates, Asset VaR constraint, Surplus VaR constraint, Optimal Portfolio.

La rouille orangée du caféier Arabica en Nouvelle Calédonie : 2- Essais de contrôle chimique

Deux fongicides ont été essayés sur les plantations de caféier Arabica attaquées par la rouille orangée en Nouvelle-Calédonie. Le premier produit, un fongicide de contact dont le principe actif est l'oxyquinoléate de cuivre, n'a pas réduit de façon significative le développemennt de la maladie. Le second produit, dont le principe actif est l'oxycarboxine, a en revanche révélé une excellente efficacité dans la lutte contre Hemileia vastatri

Search Frictions and Asset Price Volatility

We examine the quantitative effect of search frictions in product markets on asset price volatility. We combine several features from Shi (1997) and Lagos and Wright (2002) in a model without money. Households prefer special goods and general goods. Special goods can be obtained only via a search in decentralized markets. General goods can be obtained via trade in centralized competitive markets and via ownership of an asset. There is only one asset in our model that yields general goods. The asset is also used as a medium of exchange in the decentralized market to obtain the special goods. The value of the asset in facilitating transactions in the decentralized market is determined endogenously. This transaction role makes the asset pricing implications of our model different from those in the standard asset pricing model. Our model not only delivers the observed average rate of return on equity and the volatility of the equity price, but also accounts for most of the spectral characteristics of the equity price.Financial markets; Market structure and pricing
