Are labour relations and leadership styles significantly associated? An empirical study in ten manufacturing firms in Sri Lanka
It was theoretically argued that Labour Relations (LR) and leadership styles of managers were associated. An empirical study was conducted to test whether the variable of leadership style of managers was significantly associated with the variable of LR in manufacturing firms in Sri Lanka. The study was conducted in ten Sri Lanka manufacturing firms, which were listed unionised companies. The unit of analysis of this study were manager. The results indicated that leadership styles of managers and LR were not significantly associated suggesting that LR is independent of leadership styles of managers in the manufacturing firms studied in Sri Lanka
Testing for Codependence of Non-Stationary Variables
We analyze non-stationary time series that do not only trend together in the long run, but restore the equilibrium immediately in the period following a deviation. While this represents a common serial correlation feature, the framework is extended to codependence, allowing for delayed adjustment. We show which restrictions are implied for VECMs and lay out a likelihood ratio test. In addition, due to identification problems in codependent VECMs a GMM test approach is proposed. We apply the concept to US and European interest rate data, examining the capability of the Fed and ECB to control overnight money market rates
Faddeev-Jackiw approach to gauge theories and ineffective constraints
The general conditions for the applicability of the Faddeev-Jackiw approach
to gauge theories are studied. When the constraints are effective a new proof
in the Lagrangian framework of the equivalence between this method and the
Dirac approach is given. We find, however, that the two methods may give
different descriptions for the reduced phase space when ineffective constraints
are present. In some cases the Faddeev-Jackiw approach may lose some
constraints or some equations of motion. We believe that this inequivalence can
be related to the failure of the Dirac conjecture (that says that the Dirac
Hamiltonian can be enlarged to an Extended Hamiltonian including all first
class constraints, without changes in the dynamics) and we suggest that when
the Dirac conjecture fails the Faddeev-Jackiw approach fails to give the
correct dynamics. Finally we present some examples that illustrate this

Galactic Archeology with 4MOST
4MOST is a new wide-field, high-multiplex spectroscopic survey facility for
the VISTA telescope of ESO. Starting in 2022, 4MOST will deploy more than 2400
fibres in a 4.1 square degree field-of-view using a positioner based on the
tilting spine principle. In this ontribution we give an outline of the major
science goals we wish to achieve with 4MOST in the area of Galactic Archeology.
The 4MOST Galactic Archeology surveys have been designed to address
long-standing and far-reaching problems in Galactic science. They are focused
on our major themes: 1) Near-field cosmology tests, 2) Chemo-dynamical
characterisation of the major Milky Way stellar components, 3) The Galactic
Halo and beyond, and 4) Discovery and characterisation of extremely metal-poor
stars. In addition to a top-level description of the Galactic surveys we
provide information about how the community will be able to join 4MOST via a

RRS Discovery Cruise 360, 19 Jan-02 Feb 2011. Trials of the Autosub LR AUV, HyBIS, PELAGRA, Ellsworth Camera and MYRTLE-X Lander systems
There were five main objectives for the trials cruise: The first tests of the Autosub Long Range AUV, testing of the HyBIS video guided grab system, testing of the MYRTLE-X Lander systems, testing of a deep camera system for the Lake Ellsworth probe and test deployments of the PELAGRA neutrally buoyant sediment capture drifters.The working area was about 300 miles south west of the Canary Islands, in international waters, over benthic plains of 4000 m depth, with some tests of the video systems over a isolated sea mount rising to 1200 m depth. Most of the objectives of the cruise where met, with successful diving and control of the Autosub LR, tests of the HyBIS and Ellsworth camera systems, and 3 deployments and recoveries of two PELAGRA floats. Several wire tests of MYRTLE-X systems were carried out, predominantly successful, but concerns over the release system prevented a deployment of the lander
keV sterile neutrino dark matter in gauge extensions of the standard model
It is known that a keV scale sterile neutrino is a good warm dark matter
candidate. We study how this possibility could be realized in the context of
gauge extensions of the standard model. The na\"ive expectation leads to large
thermal overproduction of sterile neutrinos in this setup. However, we find
that it is possible to use out-of-equilibrium decay of the other right-handed
neutrinos of the model to dilute the present density of the keV sterile
neutrinos and achieve the observed dark matter density. We present the
universal requirements that should be satisfied by the gauge extensions of the
standard model, containing right-handed neutrinos, to be viable models of warm
dark matter, and provide a simple example in the context of the left-right
