    Centrality and vulnerability in liner shipping networks: Revisiting the Northeast Asian port hierarchy

    International audienceThis paper is essentially an empirical investigation in the network analysis of inter-port traffic flows. Based on a database of vessel movements, it applies conventional techniques of network analysis to the graph of Northeast Asian liner networks in 1996 and 2006. Such approach proves particularly helpful for analysing the changing position of major hub ports and for revealing their respective tributary areas within the region. Despite rapid traffic growth at Chinese ports during the period under study, the latter seem to remain polarized by established hubs such as Korean ports and Hong Kong.     北九州市立大学博士(工学)China's urban development has shifted from rapid urbanization to stock development with urban renewal as the main focus, but the backward facilities and inefficient allocation of public resources in urban villages make it difficult to support sustainable urban development, leading to a decline in the quality of life of residents and dissipation of urban vitality. Urban vitality is an important indicator of healthy and sustainable urban development, and it is of great significance to study the impacts of urban villages on vitality, to re-conceptualize the value of urban villages, and to explore the development path of urban villages for the sustainable development of cities. This study takes urban villages and urban vitality as the research object and proposes a quantifiable and replicable framework for the adaptation of urban villages in Shenzhen. After assessing Shenzhen's vitality in terms of economic, social, and cultural aspects, a regression model is developed to analyze the relationship between vitality and the built environment. Finally, an empirical case study is conducted. It is hoped that this will deepen the community's understanding of urban villages and provide a theoretical basis for the long-term revitalization and sustainable development of cities.doctoral thesi

Combining the existing evaluation indexes of spatial perception from the expert and the public point of view , the study discussed the influence mechanism of physical parameters and perception. It proposed a method of locating street space design problems in coastal cities.     Toward a comprehensive understanding of eye-level urban greenness: a systematic review

    The provision of urban green spaces has been widely acknowledged to offer numerous benefits to individuals and communities. Recently, there has been a growing recognition of the importance of evaluating urban greenness from a human-centered perspective, partly due to the rapid development of eye-level greenness measurement. To provide a comprehensive overview of measurement approaches and topics related to eye-level urban greenness, we conducted a systematic review of 77 relevant papers. Our review revealed that street view images are the primarily utilized data source to quantify eye-level urban greenness in urban analysis. Additionally, simulated eye-level urban greenness represents a new frontier for the general public and urban planners, offering the potential to acquire universally applicable quantitative greenness data. Our findings further suggest that eye-level urban greenness has been explored across various domains, including physical behavior, public health, urban planning, human perception, and inequity. Such exploration has highlighted a significant association between eye-level urban greenness and individuals and communities. Our review generates new insights on the integration of urban greenness into urban planning and design, encouraging a greater focus on eye-level urban greenness as a critical component of urban environmental quality

    This study aims to explore the sustainability performance of urbanization and its environment in the scope of megalopolises in China, based on the proposed assessment system of urban sustainability. That is defined as the ratio of the two dimensions: quality of the built environment and environmental pressure. The quality of the built environment includes urbanization economies, infrastructure development, and urban attraction. With the help of statistical data analysis and geoinformatics methods, the corresponding assessment and spatio-temporal analysis results are obtained using national official statistics. The empirical results of four Chinese major megalopolises (Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, Shandong Peninsula and JingJinJi) show that the urban sustainability model is applicable to conveniently combine various analytical methods to help multiple parties reach a common consensus for guiding a reasonable, efficient and sustainable urbanization process.北九州市立大

    Study on the influence of retro-reflective coatings on the thermal environment of building groups

    北九州市立大学博士(工学)まず、太陽反射率と逆反射率を含む反反射コートと高反射コートの光学性能を研究しました。次に、エリアのアルベド、壁の温度と空気の温度を監視することによって、建物の熱環境に対する2つのコーティングを研究します。また、建築形態や季節によって塗料の熱性能に与える影響も研究しました。最後に、青島市にある閉鎖型教育施設の表面反射率が建物のエネルギー負荷に与える影響をシミュレーションしました。The retro-reflective coatings can reflect the incoming solar radiation back along the incidence direction. Compared with the high reflective coatings with the optical property of diffuse reflection, the coating has greater potential in alleviating the urban heat island effect. Firstly, the optical properties of the coatings, including solar reflectance and retro-reflectance, were studied. Secondly, retro-reflective coatings and high reflective coatings were applied on the outer surface of the model, respectively, the effect of two coatings on the thermal environment of regional buildings were studied by monitoring the regional albedos, wall temperatures and air temperatures. In addition, the influence of building forms on the thermal contribution of coatings and the thermal performance of coatings in different seasons were further studied. Finally, based on Energyplus software, the influence of building surface reflectance on building energy load of an enclosed educational building in Qingdao was simulated.doctoral thesi
