Abstract Meaning Representation for Multi-Document Summarization
Generating an abstract from a collection of documents is a desirable
capability for many real-world applications. However, abstractive approaches to
multi-document summarization have not been thoroughly investigated. This paper
studies the feasibility of using Abstract Meaning Representation (AMR), a
semantic representation of natural language grounded in linguistic theory, as a
form of content representation. Our approach condenses source documents to a
set of summary graphs following the AMR formalism. The summary graphs are then
transformed to a set of summary sentences in a surface realization step. The
framework is fully data-driven and flexible. Each component can be optimized
independently using small-scale, in-domain training data. We perform
experiments on benchmark summarization datasets and report promising results.

A survey on opinion summarization technique s for social media
The volume of data on the social media is huge and even keeps increasing. The need for efficient processing of this extensive information resulted in increasing research interest in knowledge engineering tasks such as Opinion Summarization. This survey shows the current opinion summarization challenges for social media, then the necessary pre-summarization steps like preprocessing, features extraction, noise elimination, and handling of synonym features. Next, it covers the various approaches used in opinion summarization like Visualization, Abstractive, Aspect based, Query-focused, Real Time, Update Summarization, and highlight other Opinion Summarization approaches such as Contrastive, Concept-based, Community Detection, Domain Specific, Bilingual, Social Bookmarking, and Social Media Sampling. It covers the different datasets used in opinion summarization and future work suggested in each technique. Finally, it provides different ways for evaluating opinion summarization
Bringing Structure into Summaries: Crowdsourcing a Benchmark Corpus of Concept Maps
Concept maps can be used to concisely represent important information and
bring structure into large document collections. Therefore, we study a variant
of multi-document summarization that produces summaries in the form of concept
maps. However, suitable evaluation datasets for this task are currently
missing. To close this gap, we present a newly created corpus of concept maps
that summarize heterogeneous collections of web documents on educational
topics. It was created using a novel crowdsourcing approach that allows us to
efficiently determine important elements in large document collections. We
release the corpus along with a baseline system and proposed evaluation

Neural Attentive Session-based Recommendation
Given e-commerce scenarios that user profiles are invisible, session-based
recommendation is proposed to generate recommendation results from short
sessions. Previous work only considers the user's sequential behavior in the
current session, whereas the user's main purpose in the current session is not
emphasized. In this paper, we propose a novel neural networks framework, i.e.,
Neural Attentive Recommendation Machine (NARM), to tackle this problem.
Specifically, we explore a hybrid encoder with an attention mechanism to model
the user's sequential behavior and capture the user's main purpose in the
current session, which are combined as a unified session representation later.
We then compute the recommendation scores for each candidate item with a
bi-linear matching scheme based on this unified session representation. We
train NARM by jointly learning the item and session representations as well as
their matchings. We carried out extensive experiments on two benchmark
datasets. Our experimental results show that NARM outperforms state-of-the-art
baselines on both datasets. Furthermore, we also find that NARM achieves a
significant improvement on long sessions, which demonstrates its advantages in
