New results on systems of generalized vector quasi-equilibrium problems

In this paper, we firstly prove the existence of the equilibrium for the generalized abstract economy. We apply these results to show the existence of solutions for systems of vector quasi-equilibrium problems with multivalued trifunctions. Secondly, we consider the generalized strong vector quasi-equilibrium problems and study the existence of their solutions in the case when the correspondences are weakly naturally quasi-concave or weakly biconvex and also in the case of weak-continuity assumptions. In all situations, fixed-point theorems are used.Comment: 24 page

Decentralized Maximum Likelihood Estimation for Sensor Networks Composed of Nonlinearly Coupled Dynamical Systems

In this paper we propose a decentralized sensor network scheme capable to reach a globally optimum maximum likelihood (ML) estimate through self-synchronization of nonlinearly coupled dynamical systems. Each node of the network is composed of a sensor and a first-order dynamical system initialized with the local measurements. Nearby nodes interact with each other exchanging their state value and the final estimate is associated to the state derivative of each dynamical system. We derive the conditions on the coupling mechanism guaranteeing that, if the network observes one common phenomenon, each node converges to the globally optimal ML estimate. We prove that the synchronized state is globally asymptotically stable if the coupling strength exceeds a given threshold. Acting on a single parameter, the coupling strength, we show how, in the case of nonlinear coupling, the network behavior can switch from a global consensus system to a spatial clustering system. Finally, we show the effect of the network topology on the scalability properties of the network and we validate our theoretical findings with simulation results.Comment: Journal paper accepted on IEEE Transactions on Signal Processin

    Basic Types of Coarse-Graining

We consider two basic types of coarse-graining: the Ehrenfests' coarse-graining and its extension to a general principle of non-equilibrium thermodynamics, and the coarse-graining based on uncertainty of dynamical models and Epsilon-motions (orbits). Non-technical discussion of basic notions and main coarse-graining theorems are presented: the theorem about entropy overproduction for the Ehrenfests' coarse-graining and its generalizations, both for conservative and for dissipative systems, and the theorems about stable properties and the Smale order for Epsilon-motions of general dynamical systems including structurally unstable systems. Computational kinetic models of macroscopic dynamics are considered. We construct a theoretical basis for these kinetic models using generalizations of the Ehrenfests' coarse-graining. General theory of reversible regularization and filtering semigroups in kinetics is presented, both for linear and non-linear filters. We obtain explicit expressions and entropic stability conditions for filtered equations. A brief discussion of coarse-graining by rounding and by small noise is also presented.Comment: 60 pgs, 11 figs., includes new analysis of coarse-graining by filtering. Fuzzy games with a countable space of actions and applications to systems of generalized quasi-variational inequalities

In this paper, we introduce an abstract fuzzy economy (generalized fuzzy game) model with a countable space of actions and we study the existence of the fuzzy equilibrium. As applications, two types of results are obtained. The first ones concern the existence of the solutions for systems of generalized quasi-variational inequalities with random fuzzy mappings which we define. The last ones are new random fixed point theorems for correspondences with values in complete countable metric spaces.Comment: 18 page
