    Non-Visual Document Recognition for Blind Reading Assistant System

    [[abstract]]As time goes on, a huge mass of progressive knowledge is developed and then the e-book is built for paper reduction and environmental protection. Therefore, many historical documents over the past don’t exist. Research on blind reading aid device is a popular topic gradually, but there are some drawbacks on these methods. For example, electronic documents of many old dated of historical documents don’t read because format should be limited to e-document. Users can’t read any specified region of the document as he wishes. A novel blind reading aid device is proposed without e-document and the user only need to point the document with his finger. This system is composed of third parts. First, we use rectangle detection method to catch the region for document under the Microsoft Kinect. Next, dilation method and projection profile methods are used in order to execrate text and constructed coordinate database. Finally, skin detection, BEA method and depth image of Microsoft Kinect can get the coordinates of user’s finger when user wishes to read the document, and then match with constructed coordinate database to get the character.     ABSTRAKSI: Buta warna adalah kelainan penglihatan yang berhubungan dengan ketidak mampuan mata untuk membedakan warna tertentu. Penderita buta warna bukan lah orang yang tidak bisa melihat warna melainkan orang yang sulit dalam membedakan warna. Buta warna trikomasi adalah jenis buta warna yang sulit membedakan warna merah, hijau dan biru. Dengan adanya perangkat android menghasilkan ide untuk membuat aplikasi yang dapat membantu para penderita buta warna dalam membedakan warna merah, hijau dan biru.Dengan adanya perangkat mobile dan android yang disematkan bersamaan dengan pola imageprocessing maka akan membatu para penderita buta warna agar mampu membedakkan warna dengan benar dengan bantuan text dan voice. Pada Proyek akhir ini telah dirancang aplikasi pembaca warna untuk penderita buta warna berbasis android.Aplikasi sistem ini menampilkan hasil dari capture image yang diambil kemudian masuk ke sistem android dan keluarannya berupa text dan voice. Adapun hasil yang diperoleh dari proyek akhir ini, yaitu tingkat akurasi total sistem 85% dengan waktu komputasi 6,67 detik. People with color blindness is not the person who can not see colors, but the colors are difficult to distinguish. Trikomasi color blind is a type of color blindness is difficult to distinguish the colors red, green and blue. With the android device we can generate an applications that can help people with color blindness to distinguish the colors red, green and blue. With the mobile and android devices are pinned together with the pattern of the image processing will help the color blind people to be able to distinguishcolors correctly. At this final project has been designed an application for color detection for color blind people based on android. This application system will showing captured image and then get in to the android system and the output of the system are text and voice.     Multiuser detection in CDMA using blind techniques

Furthermore, blind methods remove the need for training sequences which leads to a gain in the channel bandwidth. Subspace concept in blind MUD is an alternative process to classical and batch blind MUD techniques based on principle component analysis, or independent component analysis (ICA) and ICA-like algorithms, such as joint approximate diagonalization of eigen-matrices (JADE), blind source separation algorithm with reference system, etc. Briefly, the desired signal is searched in the signal subspace instead of the whole space, in this type of detectors. A variation of the subspace-based MUD is reduced-rank MUD in which a smaller subspace of the signal subspace is tracked where the desired signal is contained in. This latter method leads to a performance gain compared to a standard subspace method. In this thesis, blind signal subspace and reduced-rank MUD techniques are investigated, and applied to minimum mean square error (MMSE) detectors with two different iterative subspace tracking algorithms. The performances of these detectors are compared in different scenarios for additive white Gaussian noise and for multipath fading channels as well. With simulation results the superiority of the reduced-rank detector to the signal subspace detector is shown. Additionally, as a new remark for both detectors, it is shown that, using minimum description length criterion in subspace tracking algorithm results in an increase in rank-tracking ability and correspondingly in the final performance. Finally, the performances of these two detectors are compared with MMSE, adaptive MMSE and JADE detectors
