StoryDroid: Automated Generation of Storyboard for Android Apps
Mobile apps are now ubiquitous. Before developing a new app, the development
team usually endeavors painstaking efforts to review many existing apps with
similar purposes. The review process is crucial in the sense that it reduces
market risks and provides inspiration for app development. However, manual
exploration of hundreds of existing apps by different roles (e.g., product
manager, UI/UX designer, developer) in a development team can be ineffective.
For example, it is difficult to completely explore all the functionalities of
the app in a short period of time. Inspired by the conception of storyboard in
movie production, we propose a system, StoryDroid, to automatically generate
the storyboard for Android apps, and assist different roles to review apps
efficiently. Specifically, StoryDroid extracts the activity transition graph
and leverages static analysis techniques to render UI pages to visualize the
storyboard with the rendered pages. The mapping relations between UI pages and
the corresponding implementation code (e.g., layout code, activity code, and
method hierarchy) are also provided to users. Our comprehensive experiments
unveil that StoryDroid is effective and indeed useful to assist app
development. The outputs of StoryDroid enable several potential applications,
such as the recommendation of UI design and layout code
The Value of a Videotaped Storyboard in a Non-Broadcast, Client Oriented Video Production: A Case Study
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the value of using the videotaped storyboard in the pre-planning and pre-production approval of a client oriented, corporate videotaped training program.
The methodology in this study is as follows: (1) to undertake the production of a corporate videotape training program; (2) to gather the necessary pre-production information about the topic, the audience, the manner in which the videotape program will be used; (3) to develop a storyboard based on the information obtained; (4) to present this storyboard for production approval; (5) to videotape the storyboard; (6) to present this videotaped version of the storyboard prior to production; (7) to compare and evaluate the responses to the different storyboard formats.
Library research on the use of the storyboard for pre-production planning and client approval revealed some information about the printed format of the storyboard but nothing about use of a videotaped storyboard. The articles that mentioned storyboards referred to the printed format with pictures or picture descriptions on one side of the page and the audio script on the other. There were different variations of the same theme but no mention of the videotaped storyboard as a technique in pre-production planning.
The writer applied the use of both the videotaped storyboard and a standard storyboard to gain approval for final production of a video training program for the Greater Knoxville Chamber of Commerce. It was clear that the videotaped form of the storyboard clarified the conceptualization of the program and prevented the production of a program based on the approval of a standard storyboard that would be rejected when viewed on videotape. The use of the videotaped storyboard format was the key factor in clarifying the producers visualization of the finished program and the expectations of the client of the finished program
USING STORYBOARD IN TEACHING WRITING OF NARRATIVE TEXT FOR EIGHT GRADERS OF SMPN 13 SURABAYA

Abstract
Writing is one the difficult skill among the other language skills (reading, speaking and listening). Therefore, English teachers should find some creative ways to teach writing instead of only directing student to write without thinking how to facilitate them. Students always think that writing is such a hard and boring activity. Not all students are ready to write their ideas when they are asked to write, even in the native language, River (1997). Because of that reason, appropriate media is needed and should be used to help students master writing. Therefore, storyboard is believed considerably suitable for teaching writing of narrative text. This study uses descriptive qualitative research designs which were aimed to describe the implementation of storyboard in teaching writing of narrative text and know the students’ writing, also know the students’ responses toward storyboard. The writer used storyboard in teaching writing of narrative text for eight graders of SMPN 13 Surabaya. The writer collected data through observation, writing task, and questionnaire. The result shows that the use of storyboard could help to stimulate the students’ idea in writing narrative text also the students’ responses toward the use of storyboard are positive.

Storyboard Physics
Storyboard Physics is a narrative approach to helping students understand core concepts within the physics curriculum. Each concept is introduced in a set of short episodes that is serialised on a module webpage. At the moment, the episodes are presented in the form of a traditional dramatic script, but we believe the ideal format would be as an interactive graphic novel. The fictional characters who tell our story have different backgrounds and different approaches to tackling problems. Students, as they read the storyline, may accordingly find they are in sympathy with one approach over another but, by following the dialogue, start to appreciate concepts holistically. Our characters discuss physics in a way that springs naturally out of their working lives; their personal relationships are however a crucial part of the format, further encouraging students to follow the narrative. Although the narrative is instructor-led, it is important to have student members of the writing team. We discuss our pilot study done as part of the HESTEM Conceptual Understanding in Physics project. This approach is easily generalised to other sciences.Peer reviewe

JuxtaLearn DELIVERABLE Report D3.5 Service scenario documentation
The purpose of Deliverable 3.5 is to provide guidelines to creating juxtaposed performance, particularly to advise non-drama teachers on what to do and how to manage performance in stage 3 of the JuxtaLearn process. Building on pedagogies of threshold concepts and juxtaposed learning, it explains the performance steps, orchestrating learning through participative video making and story making with peers. It provides guidance for teachers, offering resources that include suggested lesson plans and example timings.
Thus, in the absence of a shared touchable with JuxtaLearn software, it suggests a practical additional and alternative to using the software of WP4 touch table
SeMA: A Design Methodology for Building Secure Android Apps
UX (user experience) designers visually capture the UX of an app via
storyboards. This method is also used in Android app development to
conceptualize and design apps.
Recently, security has become an integral part of Android app UX because
mobile apps are used to perform critical activities such as banking,
communication, and health. Therefore, securing user information is imperative
in mobile apps.
In this context, storyboarding tools offer limited capabilities to capture
and reason about security requirements of an app. Consequently, security cannot
be baked into the app at design time. Hence, vulnerabilities stemming from
design flaws can often occur in apps. To address this concern, in this paper,
we propose a storyboard based design methodology to enable the specification
and verification of security properties of an Android app at design time.Comment: Updates based on AMobile 2019 review
Exploring the turning points in researchers’ lives: using the three-scene storyboarding technique
This publication sets out an approach to careers work called three scene storyboarding. Storyboarding aims to help researchers to set down their experiences, to think about their careers and to take action based on this reflection. Storyboarding is a creative technique which asks researchers to think about their lives in narrative terms and to set down their experience in the form of drawings. This is an innovative technique that asks them to think about their careers in an unfamiliar way. It can therefore be a challenging technique for professionals to get started with. However, this report shows that the storyboarding approach can be useful and that it can expand any researcher's career-management repertoire.Vita
