Robust Fault Detection of Switched Linear Systems with State Delays

    Get PDF
This correspondence deals with the problem of robust fault detection for discrete-time switched systems with state delays under an arbitrary switching signal. The fault detection filter is used as the residual generator, in which the filter parameters are dependent on the system mode. Attention is focused on designing the robust fault detection filter such that, for unknown inputs, control inputs, and model uncertainties, the estimation error between the residuals and faults is minimized. The problem of robust fault detection is converted into an H infin-filtering problem. By a switched Lyapunov functional approach, a sufficient condition for the solvability of this problem is established in terms of linear matrix inequalities. A numerical example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method

Feedback stabilization of dynamical systems with switched delays

We analyze a classification of two main families of controllers that are of interest when the feedback loop is subject to switching propagation delays due to routing via a wireless multi-hop communication network. We show that we can cast this problem as a subclass of classical switching systems, which is a non-trivial generalization of classical LTI systems with timevarying delays. We consider both cases where delay-dependent and delay independent controllers are used, and show that both can be modeled as switching systems with unconstrained switchings. We provide NP-hardness results for the stability verification problem, and propose a general methodology for approximate stability analysis with arbitrary precision. We finally give evidence that non-trivial design problems arise for which new algorithmic methods are needed

Stability Analysis for Markovian Jump Neutral Systems with Mixed Delays and Partially Known Transition Rates

    Get PDF
The delay-dependent stability problem is studied for Markovian jump neutral systems with partial information on transition probabilities, and the considered delays are mixed and model dependent. By constructing the new stochastic Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, which combined the introduced free matrices with the analysis technique of matrix inequalities, a sufficient condition for the systems with fully known transition rates is firstly established. Then, making full use of the transition rate matrix, the results are obtained for the other case, and the uncertain neutral Markovian jump system with incomplete transition rates is also considered. Finally, to show the validity of the obtained results, three numerical examples are provided

Analysis and synthesis of Markov Jump Linear systems with time-varying delays and partially known transition probabilities

In this note, the stability analysis and stabilization problems for a class of discrete-time Markov jump linear systems with partially known transition probabilities and time-varying delays are investigated. The time-delay is considered to be time-varying and has a lower and upper bounds. The transition probabilities of the mode jumps are considered to be partially known, which relax the traditional assumption in Markov jump systems that all of them must be completely known a priori. Following the recent study on the class of systems, a monotonicity is further observed in concern of the conservatism of obtaining the maximal delay range due to the unknown elements in the transition probability matrix. Sufficient conditions for stochastic stability of the underlying systems are derived via the linear matrix inequality (LMI) formulation, and the design of the stabilizing controller is further given. A numerical example is used to illustrate the developed theory. © 2008 IEEE.published_or_final_versio

Constrained control of switched positive systems with discrete and distributed delays

This paper is concerned with constrained control of switched positive linear systems with discrete and distributed delays. Our goal is to design a nonnegative controller with a prescribed upper bound, such that the closed-loop system is positive and its state trajectory is located in a boundary whenever the initial condition is within the same boundary. In addition, we investigate the case when the state trajectory never reaches the boundary. It is shown that these problems are solvable via linear programming. Both continuous- and discrete-time cases are investigated in this paper. Finally, several illustrative examples are provided to show the validity of the proposed approach. © 2014 TCCT, CAA.postprin
