    The purposes of this research are to: (1) Analyze the using of Ignition Booster to the torque and engine power on Yamaha Mio Soul motorcycle 2010. (2) Analyze the variety of spark plug to the torque and engine power on Yamaha Mio Soul motorcycle 2010. Based on the research can be concluded that: (1) The using of Ignition Booster could increase torque and engine power on wheel axis. Its because of the using of Ignition Booster could repair ignition system, So the torque and engine power on wheel axis increase. (2) The using of variety spark plug could increase torque and engine power on wheel axis. Its because of better electrode design on spark plug could increase fire fragment quality, so the torque and engine power on wheel axis increase. (3) The using of Ignition Booster and variety of spark plug could increase torque and engine power on wheel axis. Its because of the using of Ignition Booster could repair combustion system and better electrode design on spark plug could increase fire fragment quality, so the torque and engine power on wheel axis increase. (4) Maximum torque obtained with use ignition booster and Iridium Spark plug, which is 4.95 ft.lbs at 6000 rpm. Maximum Engine Power obtained with use ignition booster and Iridium Spark plug, which is 6.49 ft.lbs at 8000 rpm

    The purposes of this research are: (1) To explore the use effect of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer against consumption fuel Yamaha Mio Soul 2010. (2) To explore the effect of the variation of spark plugs against consumption fuel on Yamaha Mio Soul 2010. (3) To explore the interaction effect of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer and variation spark plugs against consumption fuel on Yamaha Mio Soul 2010. This research was conducted in the Workshop of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta. Type of this research is descriptive qualitative uses experimental methods. The Object in this research used a motorcycle Yamaha Mio Soul 2010 with engine number 2S6439296. Techniques of data analysis in this research using descriptive data analysis that is directly observed experimental results are then analyzed and summing up the results of the research. As an input parameter in analyzing the data include: the use of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer, a variation of the standard spark plugs, platinum, iridium and fuel consumption. The research can be conclude that: (1) The use of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer on Yamaha Mio Soul 2010 to fuel consumption with standard plug of 9.2 ml/minute, platinum spark plug 9.2 ml/minute, iridium spark plug 8.73 ml/minute. (2) Without the use of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer on Yamaha Mio Soul 2010 against the consumption of fuel by standard spark plug of 9.66 ml/minute, platinum spark plug 9.33 ml/minute, iridium spark plug 8.93 ml/minute. (3) The best interaction between the use of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer and variation of spark plugs that is on the use of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer to the spark plug with the use of iridium which is 8.73 ml/minute, but the use this variation must attention the total cost

    The final project was created with the aim of building the hardware, software, and know the performance of the Tachometer Based Mikrokontroller Atmega16 By Electromagnetic induction Method In spark plug Wires As Ancillary Service Light Fixtures on the motorcycle as a tool that can measure the rotation of the engine shaft perminuits. Methods used in constructing mikrokontroller based atmega16 Tachometer with electromagnetic induction method in spark plug wires as ancillary service light fixtures on the motorcycle is made up of: 1) the identification of needs, (2) analysis of needs, (3) Design Method, (4) and (5) Test. This tool works is controlled by a system of mikrokontroller ATmega16 and programmed using software CodeVision AVR based language c. supporting Hardware consists of a power supply circuit based on Regulator 78xx ICS, using seven segment display 2.3 inches, BC547 transistor-IC ULN2803 BC557 as well as a series of drivers, FCS9013 transistor that is used to capture induction and processor as ATmega16 mikrocontroller. After testing, be aware that Hardware can be run well by using the minimum system mikrokotroller ATmega16 combined with other support instruments. While the software is created using software CodeVision AVR also runs very well.     One of supporting components in the ignition system of Spark Ignition Engine is spark plug. Ignition occurs caused by the existence of electric source energy which generates activation energy to ignite the air fuel mixture until produces power. Spark plug is a component generating the spark highly effected the completeness process in combustion chamber. The completeness of combustion process shall affects the performance of the engine. By using Splitfire SF392D Spark plug and Hurricane plug wire, the ignition timing must be resetting for optimum power result. From result of the test, everage power increased is 3.8%

    An Analysis of the Combustion Behavior of Ethanol, Butanol, Iso-Octane, Gasoline, and Methane in a Direct-Injection Spark-Ignition Research Engine

    Future automotive fuels are expected to contain significant quantities of bio-components. This poses a great challenge to the designers of novel low-CO2 internal combustion engines because biofuels have very different properties to those of most typical hydrocarbons. The current article presents results of firing a direct-injection spark-ignition optical research engine on ethanol and butanol and comparing those to data obtained with gasoline and iso-octane. A multihole injector, located centrally in the combustion chamber, was used with all fuels. Methane was also employed by injecting it into the inlet plenum to provide a benchmark case for well-mixed “homogeneous” charge preparation. The study covered stoichiometric and lean mixtures (λ = 1.0 and λ = 1.2), various spark advances (30–50° CA), a range of engine temperatures (20–90°C), and diverse injection strategies (single and “split” triple). In-cylinder gas sampling at the spark-plug location and at a location on the pent-roof wall was also carried out using a fast flame ionization detector to measure the equivalence ratio of the in-cylinder charge and identify the degree of stratification. Combustion imaging was performed through a full-bore optical piston to study the effect of injection strategy on late burning associated with fuel spray wall impingement. Combustion with single injection was fastest for ethanol throughout 20–90°C, but butanol and methane were just as fast at 90°C; iso-octane was the slowest and gasoline was between iso-octane and the alcohols. At 20°C, λ at the spark plug location was 0.96–1.09, with gasoline exhibiting the largest and iso-octane the lowest value. Ethanol showed the lowest degree of stratification and butanol the largest. At 90°C, stratification was lower for most fuels, with butanol showing the largest effect. The work output with triple injection was marginally higher for the alcohols and lower for iso-octane and gasoline (than with single injection), but combustion stability was worse for all fuels. Triple injection produced a lower degree of stratification, with leaner λ at the spark plug than single injection. Combustion imaging showed much less luminous late burning with tripe injection. In terms of combustion stability, the alcohols were more robust to changes in fueling (λ = 1.2) than the liquid hydrocarbons

    The research lead to conclusion that: (1) There is an effect of carburetor venturi diameter variation to power on motorcycle Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-I 2009. This is shown by the results of the test data analysis, that Fobservasi = 3520.48 greater than Ftabel = 3.83 (Fobservasi > Ftabel) at 1% significance level. (2) There is the influence of the type of spark plug in motorcycle Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-I 2009. This is shown by the results of the analysis of test data, that Fobservasi = 38452.50 greater than Ftabel = 4.31 (Fobservasi > Ftabel) at 1% significance level. (3) There is interaction the carburetor venturi diameter variation and types of spark plug to power the motorcycle Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-I 2009. This is shown by the results of the analysis of test data, that Fobservasi= 1193.78 greater than Ftabel = 2.66 (Fobservasi > Ftabel) at significance level 1%.
