    STUDI SIFAT MEKANIK KOMPOSIT SANDWICH DIVINYCELL FOAM DENGAN METODE VACUUM ASSISTED RESIN INFUSION (VARI) UNTUK FLOAT PESAWAT AMFIBI

    This study aims to determine the mechanical properties of the sandwich composite with the number of layer-core-layer; 4: 1: 2. The ratio used between fiber and resin is 60%: 40% with the final mass of the core composite and fiber 65.35%, and resin 34.65%. The composite material used is UT20-70G carbon fiber with vinyl ester resin and 0.6% catalyst. The composite sandwich was made using the Vacuum Assisted Resin Infusion (VARI) method with a vacuum time of 60 minutes. The tests performed were flatwise compressive according to ASTM C 365 standard, edgewise compressive test according to ASTM C 364 standard, and three point bending flexural test according to ASTM C 393 standard. Then some of the specimens were given post curing treatment for 60 minutes at 75ºC temperature. The test results of flatwise compressive, edgewise compressive, and flexural three point bending on non-curing specimens yielded average maximum compressive strength data of 8.21 MPa, 9.36 MPa, and 24.82 MPa, respectively.
