Bibliometric is an emerging thrust area of research and has now become a well established part of information research and a quantitative approach to the description of documents. Bibliometric has grown out of the realization that literature is growing and changing out of a rate with which no librarian or information worker equipped with traditional bibliographic skills and methods could keep abreast. This study aims to present a bibliometric analysis of the Library Philosophy and Practice journal, the aim being to offer a summary of research activity in library and information science and characterize its most important aspects. The paper analyzes a bibliometric study of 1402 articles were published during the period from 1998 to 2018 in the Library Philosophy and Practice journal. The paper covers the bibliometric analyses of year-wise distribution of articles, category-wise classification of papers, subject-wise distribution of articles, authorship patterns, and institutions-wise distribution of contributions

The aim of this study was to analyze Brazil research performance on Coronary Artery Disease as reflected in indexed publications in Web of Science with a view to understand their distribution of research output, top journals for publications, most prolific authors, authorship pattern, and citations pattern on CAD. The results indicate that highest growth rate of publications occurred between the years 1995-1999. University Sao Paulo topped the scene among all institutes. The maximum publications were more than ten authored publications. Ramires JAF and Santos RD were found to be the most prolific authors. It is also found that most of the prolific authors (by number of publications) do not emerge in highly cited publications’ list. CAD researchers mostly preferred using article publications to communicate their findings

A scientometric analysis was conducted on 2835 articles published in the Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering from 2007-2016, downloaded from Web of Science on 12.03.2017 and analysed using Bibexcel and MS Excel. The study reveals that : Year 2009 had seen a maximum of (709, 25.01%) articles; volume 108 is most productive; RGR decreased from 1.00 in 2009 to 0.08 in 2016. The doubling time of the research output kept on increasing from 2009 ; Kondo A is the most productive author with 52 (1.83%) articles; Only 56 (1.98%) articles were contributed in single author style ; The authors working in small research teams have contributed the most; The overall degree of collaboration for the study period is 98.02; Fukusaki E has the highest h-index of 14 for his 46 articles and 582 citations; Bamba T and Fukusaki E are the most prolific joint authors who have contributed 35 articles; 1/4th of the articles (25.26 %, 176) did not receive any citation and 10% of the articles received just one citation. Less number of articles received highest number of citations; the articles published during 2006-2010 have received more citations than those during 2013-2016; Average citations per volume is 1095; Average citations per article is 8; Japan has emerged as the most productive country with the SPI of 63.21 (1792 articles); Japan and china have collectively published 47 articles; Osaka University is the most productive organization with 276 articles; a majority of 21.09% (598) of articles have 6 pages

This study is a citation analysis of serials in postgraduate Theses and dissertations of library and information science of public universities in Southeast Nigeria submitted from 2013 to 2021. The study was guide by five research questions in line with the objectives of the study. The study employed a descriptive survey design with a sampled population of 296 derived through census method from four public universities offering library and information science. The principle instruments used in collecting data for this study were self-designed checklists. With the checklists, 12455 serials citations were analyzed using descriptive statistics of mode, mean and range and data presented in tables, charts and graphs using frequencies and percentile. . The study found that the most cited serials types were journals with 76.5% citations followed by conference proceedings/reports with 20% and the least cited being government publication with only .5 citations . This affirms other citation analysis, which found that journals are the most frequently used type. It was further discovered that serials used were either in print or electronic form. . The study also revealed that multi authorship is the most frequently cited author pattern in library graduates theses and dissertations, while annual serials citations range from 1034 to 2205. The study indicated that the average age of serials used was 0 - 20. The study recommended among other things that there should be documentation librarian in each university library whose duty should be tracking down research reports, ensuring proper documentations and upward delivery to the university library circulation unit
