    Soa Reference Architecture Blueprint

    Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a framework for integrating business processes and supporting IT infrastructure as secure, standardized components services that can be reused and combined to address changing business priorities. Services are the building blocks of SOA and new applications can be constructed through consuming these services and orchestrating services within a business process. In SOA, services is map to the business functions that are identified during business process analysis. Upon a successful implementation of SOA, the enterprise gain benefit by reducing development time, utilizing flexibility and responsive application structure, and following dynamic connectivity of application logics between business partners. This paper presents SOA reference architecture blueprint as the building blocks of SOA which is services, service components and flows that together support enterprise business processes and the business goals. Layanan Berorientasi Arsitektur (SOA) merupakan framework untuk mengintegrasikan proses bisnis dan mendukung infrastruktur TI secara aman, layanan komponen standar yang dapat digunakan kembali dan dikombinasikan untuk mengatasi Perubahan prioritas bisnis. Layanan merupakan blok bangunan SOA, di mana aplikasi baru dapat dibangun melalui konsumsi layanan ini dan merancang layanan dalam proses bisnis. Dalam SOA, layanan dipetakan ke fungsi bisnis yang diidentifikasi selama analisis proses bisnis. Setelah keberhasilan implementasi SOA, Perusahaan memperoleh keuntungan diantaranya mengurangi waktu pengembangan, memanfaatkan fleksibilitas dan struktur aplikasi responsif, dan mengikuti konektivitas dinamis dari logika aplikasi antara mitra bisnis.     A SOA-Based Platform-Specific Framework for Context-Aware Mobile Applications

    Context-aware mobile applications are intelligent applications that can monitor the user’s context and, in case of changes in this context, consequently adapt their behaviour in order to satisfy the user’s current needs or anticipate the user’s intentions. The design of such applications relies on dynamic middleware platforms that consist of a variety of components. These components are distributed in the environment and interoperate by making use of each other’s services. In the A-MUSE project, we defined a design methodology based on MDA principles that relies on a SOA reference architecture for context-aware mobile applications. This paper shows how abstract concepts in the design of such applications can be applied to realize concrete components that guarantee architectural interoperability. We also present a platform-specific framework that uses BPEL, UDDI registry and web services as target technologies to implement our reference architecture

    A Survey Paper on Service Oriented Architecture Approach and Modern Web Services

    Service-Oriented Architecture is an architectural design pattern based on distinct pieces of software providing application functionality as services to other applications via a protocol. It is a collection of micro-services which are self-contained and provides unit functionality. The architectural style has the following essential core features which are inter-operability, service abstraction, service discovery, service autonomy, service statelessness re-usability, loose coupling. Service-oriented architectures are not a new thing. The first service-oriented architecture for many people in the past was with the use DCOM (uses RPC – Remote Procedural Calls) and CORBA (uses IIOP protocol) but because of the lack of standards and also with the advent of modern web development (Web 2.0) and the use of mobile phones and their penetration service oriented architecture is being implemented as Web Services (uses mainly HTTP/HTTPS) protocol. Most common implementations of Web Services can be done as SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol)-based which essentially is a HTTP/HTTPS POST with an XML payload in it. SOAP based web services expose service interface using WSDL (Web Service Description Language) and there is a pre-defined contract via XSD (XML Schema Definition) between the service being exposed and the client side that consumes this service. The other most popular lightweight implementation of web services is using RESTful (Representational State Transfer) architecture where the payload is in JSON (Java Script Object Notation) / XML and uses RESTful style of communication to access resources on the server. So any application written in any language for example C# or C++ or C or Groovy or Java that can make a HTTP call should be able to access the services and since the data is in XML/JSON they can make a sense of data and this way we can re-use services and be inter-operable. The goal of our survey is to delve deeper into SOA principles, key constituents and how Web Services - implementation of SOA has taken this into such a wide spread usage and created a phenomena and various technologies that can be used to develop/consume web services and also about the protocols being used and some common use cases in building re-usable and scalable application architectures using web services

    An Inquiry Regarding the Development of an Effectual Architecture Framework Supporting Next Generation 9-1-1

    The emergency 9-1-1 service is a vital part of our nation â„¢s emergency response and disaster preparedness systems. At last count there were 6100 Public Safety Answering Points across the United States, 97 of those reside in the State of Colorado, and the citizens of the United States cannot email, text, or instant message these types of non-traditional communication to those Public Safety Answering Points due to technological limitations. The trends in personal communication technologies are accelerating the obsolescence of the current 9-1-1 systems. The Public Safety Answering Point of today is designed to accept and process voice media only; and proved successful in delivering emergency services in times of personal, regional, and national need. The current circuit-switched infrastructure of the 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point network cannot receive digital data (e.g., text messages, email, photographs, and video) from the communication devices commonly used by the public today. A national movement known as Next Generation 9-1-1 is underway that will support non-traditional communication digital data processing in the Public Safety Answering Point. This case study will attempt to determine if practical service oriented architecture methodology can be used in the development of an effectual architecture framework supporting the Next Generation 9-1-1framework and the nontraditional communication technology within the Public Safety Answering Points of Colorado
