A proposed case for the cloud software engineering in security

This paper presents Cloud Software Engineering in Security (CSES) proposal that combines the benefits from each of good software engineering process and security. While other literature does not provide a proposal for Cloud security as yet, we use Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) to illustrate the concept of CSES from its design, implementation and test phases. BPMN can be used to raise alarm for protecting Cloud security in a real case scenario in real-time. Results from BPMN simulations show that a long execution time of 60 hours is required to protect real-time security of 2 petabytes (PB). When data is not in use, BPMN simulations show that the execution time for all data security rapidly falls off. We demonstrate a proposal to deal with Cloud security and aim to improve its current performance for Big Data

Strategic Techniques for Enhancing Web Services Security in Cloud Computing Model

The 21st century has witnessed an integration of enterprise business process with emerging techniques in a quest to maximize opportunities and organisational strength. In spite of these, vulnerabilities and risks still abound due to the integration for an effective operational mechanism. Mitigating against these requires strategic techniques for enhancing web services security. It is on this background that this paper has been presented. A critical study of web services architecture and cloud computing model as an emerging technology has been given a succinct digest. Furthermore, an evaluation of recent trends in web services and cloud computing model security issues were x-rayed. The threat to web services application deployed in cloud computing were identified hence presenting strategic techniques for enhancing web services security as a proactive measure to enhancing enterprise success. This paper concludes by re-iterating the need to understanding various security threats and proactively and dynamically reacting to them. Ā© 2017 Springer Science+Business Media DordrechtThis paper describes our proposal for Quality of Service (QoS) for Financial Modeling and Prediction as a Service (FMPaaS), since a majority of papers does not focus on SaaS level. We focus on two factors for delivering successful QoS, which are performance and accuracy for FMPaaS. The design process, theories and models behind the FMPaaS service have been explained. To support our FMPaaS service, two APIs have been developed to improve on performance and accuracy. Two major experiments have been illustrated and results show that each API processing can be completed in 2.12 seconds and 100,000 simulations can be completed in an acceptable period of time. Accuracy tests have been performed while using Facebook as an example. Three points of comparisons between actual and predicted prices have been undertaken. Results support accuracy since results are between 93.72 % and 99.63 % for Facebook. Three case studies have been used and results can support the accuracy and validity of the high level of accuracy offered by FMPaaS

QoS Based Framework for Effective Web Services in Cloud Computing

    No full text
Enhancements in technology always follow Consumer requirements. Consumer requires best of service with least possible mismatch and on time. Numerous applications available today are based on Web Services and Cloud Computing. Recently, there exist many Web Services with similar functional characteristics. Choosing ā€œa-right ā€ Service from group of similar Web Service is a complicated task for Service Consumer. In that case, Service Consumer can discover the required Web Service using non functional attributes of the Web Services such as QoS. Proposed layered architecture and Web Service-Cloud, i.e. WS-Cloud computing Framework synthesizes the non functional attributes that includes reliability, availability, response time, latency etc. The Service Consumer is projected to provide the QoS requirements as part of Service discovery query. This framework will discover and filter the Web Services form the cloud and rank them according to Service Consumer preferences to facilitate Service on time
