Latency Optimal Broadcasting in Noisy Wireless Mesh Networks
In this paper, we adopt a new noisy wireless network model introduced very
recently by Censor-Hillel et al. in [ACM PODC 2017, CHHZ17]. More specifically,
for a given noise parameter any sender has a probability of
of transmitting noise or any receiver of a single transmission in its
neighborhood has a probability of receiving noise.
In this paper, we first propose a new asymptotically latency-optimal
approximation algorithm (under faultless model) that can complete
single-message broadcasting task in time units/rounds in any
WMN of size and diameter . We then show this diameter-linear
broadcasting algorithm remains robust under the noisy wireless network model
and also improves the currently best known result in CHHZ17 by a
factor.
In this paper, we also further extend our robust single-message broadcasting
algorithm to multi-message broadcasting scenario and show it can broadcast
messages in time rounds. This new robust
multi-message broadcasting scheme is not only asymptotically optimal but also
answers affirmatively the problem left open in CHHZ17 on the existence of an
algorithm that is robust to sender and receiver faults and can broadcast
messages in time rounds.Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1705.07369 by other author
An Overview of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks for the Existing Protocols and Applications
Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of two or more devices or nodes
or terminals with wireless communications and networking capability that
communicate with each other without the aid of any centralized administrator
also the wireless nodes that can dynamically form a network to exchange
information without using any existing fixed network infrastructure. And it's
an autonomous system in which mobile hosts connected by wireless links are free
to be dynamically and some time act as routers at the same time, and we discuss
in this paper the distinct characteristics of traditional wired networks,
including network configuration may change at any time, there is no direction
or limit the movement and so on, and thus needed a new optional path Agreement
(Routing Protocol) to identify nodes for these actions communicate with each
other path, An ideal choice way the agreement should not only be able to find
the right path, and the Ad Hoc Network must be able to adapt to changing
network of this type at any time. and we talk in details in this paper all the
information of Mobile Ad Hoc Network which include the History of ad hoc,
wireless ad hoc, wireless mobile approaches and types of mobile ad Hoc
networks, and then we present more than 13 types of the routing Ad Hoc Networks
protocols have been proposed. In this paper, the more representative of routing
protocols, analysis of individual characteristics and advantages and
disadvantages to collate and compare, and present the all applications or the

Reliable on-demand routing protocols for mobile ad-hoc networks
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University London.Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) facilitates the creation of dynamic reconfigurable networks, without centralized infrastructure. MANET routing protocols have to face high challenges like link instability, node mobility, frequently changing topologies and energy consumption of node, due to these challenges routing becomes one of the core issues in MANETs. This Thesis mainly focuses on the reactive routing protocol such as Ad-Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol. Reliable and Efficient Reactive Routing Protocol (RERRP) for MANET has been proposed to reduce the link breakages between the moving nodes. This scheme selects a reliable route using Reliability Factor (RF); the RF considers Route Expiration Time and Hop Count to select a routing path with high reliability and have less number of hops. The simulation result shows that RERRP outperforms AODV and enhance the packet delivery fraction (PDF) by around 6% and reduces the network routing load (NRL) by around 30%. Broadcasting in MANET could cause serious redundancy, contention, and collision of the packets. A scheme, Effective Broadcast Control Routing Protocol (EBCRP) has been proposed for the controlling of broadcast storm problem in a MANET. The EBCRP is mainly selects the reliable node while controlling the redundant re-broadcast of the route request packet. The proposed algorithm EBCRP is an on-demand routing protocol, therefore AODV route discovery mechanism was selected as the base of this scheme. The analysis of the performance of EBCRP has revealed that the EBCRP have controlled the routing overhead significantly, reduces it around 70% and enhance the packet delivery by 13% as compared to AODV. An Energy Sensible and Route Stability Based Routing Protocol (ESRSBR) have also been proposed that mainly focuses on increasing the network lifetime with better packet delivery. The ESRSBR supports those nodes to participate in the data transfer that have more residual energy related to their neighbour nodes. The proposed protocol also keeps track of the stability of the links between the nodes. Finally, the ESRSBR selects those routes which consist of nodes that have more residual energy and have stable links. The comparative analysis of ESRSBR with AODV and recently proposed routing protocol called Link Stability and Energy Aware (LSEA) routing protocol revealed that the proposed protocol ESRSBR has a significantly affect the network lifetime, increases it around 10% and 13% as compared to LSEA and AODV protocols respectively. The ESRSBR also decreases the routing overhead by 22% over LSEA and by 38% over AODV.Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and NED University of Engineering and Technology Karach
An enhanced Multipath Strategy in Mobile Ad hoc Routing Protocols
The various routing protocols in Mobile Ad hoc Networks follow different
strategies to send the information from one node to another. The nodes in the
network are non static and they move randomly and are prone to link failure
which makes always to find new routes to the destination. This research mainly
focused on the study of the characteristics of multipath routing protocols in
MANETS. Two of the multipath routing protocols were investigated and a
comparative study along with simulation using NS2 was done between DSR and AODV
to propose an enhanced approach to reach the destination maintaining the QoS. A
possible optimization to the DSR and AODV routing protocols was proposed to
make no node to be overburdened by distributing the load after finding the
alternate multipath routes which were discovered in the Route discovery
process. The simulation shows that the differences in the protocol highlighted
major differences with the protocol performance. These differences have been
analyzed with various network size, mobility, and network load. A new search
table named Search of Next Node Enquiry Table (SONNET) was proposed to find the
best neighbor node. Using SONNET the node selects the neighbor which can be
reached in less number of hops and with less time delay and maintaining the

Study on QoS support in 802.11e-based multi-hop vehicular wireless ad hoc networks
Multimedia communications over vehicular ad hoc networks (VANET) will play an important role in the future intelligent transport system (ITS). QoS support for VANET therefore becomes an essential problem. In this paper, we first study the QoS performance in multi-hop VANET by using the standard IEEE 802.11e EDCA MAC and our proposed triple-constraint QoS routing protocol, Delay-Reliability-Hop (DeReHQ). In particular, we evaluate the DeReHQ protocol together with EDCA in highway and urban areas. Simulation results show that end-to-end delay performance can sometimes be achieved when both 802.11e EDCA and DeReHQ extended AODV are used. However, further studies on cross-layer optimization for QoS support in multi-hop environment are required
Reliable routing scheme for indoor sensor networks
Indoor Wireless sensor networks require a highly dynamic, adaptive routing scheme to deal with the high rate of topology changes due to fading of indoor wireless channels. Besides that, energy consumption rate needs to be consistently distributed among sensor nodes and efficient utilization of battery power is essential. If only the link reliability metric is considered in the routing scheme, it may create long hops routes, and the high quality paths will be frequently used. This leads to shorter lifetime of such paths; thereby the entire network's lifetime will be significantly minimized. This paper briefly presents a reliable load-balanced routing (RLBR) scheme for indoor ad hoc wireless sensor networks, which integrates routing information from different layers. The proposed scheme aims to redistribute the relaying workload and the energy usage among relay sensor nodes to achieve balanced energy dissipation; thereby maximizing the functional network lifetime. RLBR scheme was tested and benchmarked against the TinyOS-2.x implementation of MintRoute on an indoor testbed comprising 20 Mica2 motes and low power listening (LPL) link layer provided by CC1000 radio. RLBR scheme consumes less energy for communications while reducing topology repair latency and achieves better connectivity and communication reliability in terms of end-to-end packets delivery performance
