The Ontario-Quebec Continental Gateway: A Situational Analysis of Human Resources Needs

This report examines human resource and skills issues pertaining to the Ontario-Quebec Continental Gateway and Trade Corridor over the short- to medium-term (within the next five years). Based on information gathered through interviews with industry representatives and labour market data analysis, the report identifies common and inter-related challenges across the Gateway sectors (construction, air, marine, road and rail transportation, supply chain and multimodal transportation, and border security). Despite the economic downturn, there may be shortages of skilled labour in certain occupations. A study was conducted to determine the demand for and the economic factors involved in air transportation in a low and medium density market. The subjects investigated are as follows: (1) industry and market structure, (2) aircraft analysis, (3) economic analysis, (4) field surveys, and (5) computer network analysis. Designing Flightdeck Procedures: Literature Resources

This technical publication contains the titles, abstracts, summaries, descriptions, and/or annotations of available literature sources on procedure design and development, requirements, and guidance. It is designed to provide users with an easy access to available resources on the topic of procedure design, and with a sense of the contents of these sources. This repository of information is organized into the following publication sources: Research (e.g., journal articles, conference proceedings), Manufacturers' (e.g., operation manuals, newsletters), and Regulatory and/or Government (e.g., advisory circulars, reports). An additional section contains synopses of Accident/Incident Reports involving procedures. This work directly supports a comprehensive memorandum by Barshi, Mauro, Degani, & Loukopoulou (2016) that summarizes the results of a multi-year project, partially funded by the FAA, to develop technical reference materials that support guidance on the process of developing cockpit procedures (see "Designing Flightdeck Procedures" https://ntrs.nasa.gov/archive/nasa/casi.ntrs.nasa.gov/20160013263.pdf). An extensive treatment of this topic is presented in a forthcoming book by the same authors

Development of an Aeronautical Certification Process Focused on Avionics Equipment

The Final Degree Project “Development of an Aeronautical Certification Process Focused on Avionics Equipment” aims to introduce to the reader about the current aviation certification framework. Even though both, military and civil domains are tackled, a certification process for avionics equipment is developed under the European civil aviation regulations in force. Using the Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS) as an example, the process for application of its certification, together with the deliverables that must be issued to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Agency’s internal application evaluation process are studied.Universidad de Sevilla.
