Parameter Estimations in a Model Imitating a Network Admission System with Self-Similar Arrival Streams
Arrival traffic control allows one to improve network performance. Recently, access control
schemes based on traffic parameter measurements became popular. In this paper, we consider the prob-
lem of artificial traffic analysis in the presence of self-similarity and compute the corresponding statis-
tical characteristics, such as the autocorrelation function and the spectral density. These functions can
be used for optimization of the arrival stream measurement frequency in a measurement-based access
control scheme
