A modified Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model is proposed in which the consequent parts are composed of a set of discrete-time state equations containing a repeated scalar nonlinearity. Such a model can describe some well-known nonlinear systems such as recurrent neural networks. The measurement transmission between the plant and controller is assumed to be imperfect and a stochastic variable satisfying the Bernoulli random binary distribution is utilized to represent the phenomenon of random packet losses. Attention is focused on the analysis and design of H∞ fuzzy controllers with the same repeated scalar nonlinearities such that the closed-loop T-S fuzzy control system is stochastically stable and preserves a guaranteed H∞ performance. Sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of admissible controllers, and the cone complementarity linearization procedure is employed to cast the controller design problem into a sequential minimization one subject to linear matrix inequalities, which can be readily solved by using standard numerical software. Two examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed design method

    Based on the relative motion dynamic model illustrated by C-W equations, the problem of robust Hinfin control for a class of spacecraft rendezvous systems is investigated, which contains parametric uncertainties, external disturbances and input constraints. An Hinfin state-feedback controller is designed via a Lyapunov approach, which guarantees the closed-loop system to meet the multi-objective design requirements. The existence conditions for admissible controllers are formulated in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), and the controller design is cast into a convex optimization problem subject to LMI constraints. An illustrative example is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed control design method

    Non-Fragile Guaranteed Cost Control of Nonlinear Systems with Different State and Input Delays Based on T-S Fuzzy Local Bilinear Models

    This paper focuses on the non-fragile guaranteed cost control problem for a class of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy time-varying delay systems with local bilinear models and different state and input delays. A non-fragile guaranteed cost state-feedback controller is designed such that the closed-loop T-S fuzzy local bilinear control system is delay-dependent asymptotically stable, and the closed-loop fuzzy system performance is constrained to a certain upper bound when the additive controller gain perturbations exist. By employing the linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, sufficient conditions are established for the existence of desired non-fragile guaranteed cost controllers. The simulation examples show that the proposed approach is effective and feasible

    Adaptive Backstepping Control for Fractional-Order Nonlinear Systems with External Disturbance and Uncertain Parameters Using Smooth Control

    In this paper, we consider controlling a class of single-input-single-output (SISO) commensurate fractional-order nonlinear systems with parametric uncertainty and external disturbance. Based on backstepping approach, an adaptive controller is proposed with adaptive laws that are used to estimate the unknown system parameters and the bound of unknown disturbance. Instead of using discontinuous functions such as the sign\mathrm{sign} function, an auxiliary function is employed to obtain a smooth control input that is still able to achieve perfect tracking in the presence of bounded disturbances. Indeed, global boundedness of all closed-loop signals and asymptotic perfect tracking of fractional-order system output to a given reference trajectory are proved by using fractional directed Lyapunov method.     Online Deep Learning for Improved Trajectory Tracking of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Using Expert Knowledge

    This work presents an online learning-based control method for improved trajectory tracking of unmanned aerial vehicles using both deep learning and expert knowledge. The proposed method does not require the exact model of the system to be controlled, and it is robust against variations in system dynamics as well as operational uncertainties. The learning is divided into two phases: offline (pre-)training and online (post-)training. In the former, a conventional controller performs a set of trajectories and, based on the input-output dataset, the deep neural network (DNN)-based controller is trained. In the latter, the trained DNN, which mimics the conventional controller, controls the system. Unlike the existing papers in the literature, the network is still being trained for different sets of trajectories which are not used in the training phase of DNN. Thanks to the rule-base, which contains the expert knowledge, the proposed framework learns the system dynamics and operational uncertainties in real-time. The experimental results show that the proposed online learning-based approach gives better trajectory tracking performance when compared to the only offline trained network.Comment: corrected version accepted for ICRA 201
