The massive 3-loop operator matrix elements with two masses and the generalized variable flavor number scheme
We report on our latest results in the calculation of the two--mass
contributions to 3--loop operator matrix elements (OMEs). These OMEs are needed
to compute the corresponding contributions to the deep-inealstic scattering
structure functions and to generalize the variable flavor number scheme by
including both charm and bottom quarks. We present the results for the
non-singlet and OMEs, and compare the size of their contribution
relative to the single mass case. Results for the gluonic OME are
given in the physical case, going beyond those presented in a previous
publication where scalar diagrams were computed. We also discuss our recently
published two--mass contribution to the pure singlet OME, and present an
alternative method of calculating the corresponding diagrams.Comment: 20 pages Latex, 5 Figures, different style file
Upgrading the OMES database: online access to OMES monitoring data using the IMERS web interface
The OMES collection is a database that holds a huge amount of measurement data on stations along the Zeeschelde and Westerschelde. The data collection consists in three main types of data: historical data (1904-1991) derived from literature, more recent data (1995-2007) generated during the OMES monitoring campaigns and some additional data from incidental measurements in the same study area. The measurements vary from water quality and suspended matter to biological data. The OMES project started in 1995 and is a multidisciplinary study on the estuarine environment of the Belgian part of the Scheldt. The main aim of OMES is to create a tool for the Flemish government that can be used as scientific support for the policy on water management of the Scheldt Estuary. In the summer of 2007 the OMES data collection has been integrated as a separate context in the IMERS data system. The Flanders Marine Institute is now responsible for centralizing and management of the newly gathered OMES data and for redistributing the data towards the OMES partners and extern users. The user that is interested in access to and use of the data is presented with a web interface on the OMES website that allows querying the database based on specific search criteria. Search criteria include parameters measured and taxonomic, spatial and temporal scope. The user can visualize the resulting data in tables and export the data to The whole dataset is made available to the project partners on the restricted pages of the OMES website: http://www.vliz.be/projects/omes
UMOWA MIĘDZYNARODOWA I MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING – CHARAKTERYSTYKA I TERMINOLOGIA
The article aims at characterizing selected features of the international agreements andMemorandum of Understanding. It presents general characteristic of agreements and terminologyused in both types of these kinds of documents. The author has explained the meaning and themain aim of using the Memorandum of Understanding instead of the standard internationalagreements. This article indicates the similarities between both of these documents resulting inmany misunderstandings between parties to such agreements. It also presents the differencesbetween them in order to show the right direction while drafting such documents. The author hasalso presented the consequences that may appear when the specified terminology is not followed.Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przybliżenie wybranych cech umów międzynarodowych oraz Memorandum of Understanding. Artykuł przedstawia ogólną charakterystykę umów międzynarodowych oraz terminologię używaną w obu rodzajach tych dokumentów. Autorka wyjaśnia znaczenie oraz podaje możliwe rodzaje zastosowania Memorandum of Understanding w zestawieniu z standardowymi umowam międzynarodowymi.
The EPR experiment in the energy-based stochastic reduction framework
We consider the EPR experiment in the energy-based stochastic reduction
framework. A gedanken set up is constructed to model the interaction of the
particles with the measurement devices. The evolution of particles' density
matrix is analytically derived. We compute the dependence of the
disentanglement rate on the parameters of the model, and study the dependence
of the outcome probabilities on the noise trajectories. Finally, we argue that
these trajectories can be regarded as non-local hidden variables.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figure
