Al Gore\u27s name spoonerized is galore which turns out to be a clever Al Gore rhythm. This year Republicans are experiencing Al Gore-aphobia, but are hoping to Bush whack the opposition. George Bush\u27s name anagrammed becomes He bugs Gore, and, adding the the W, He grew bogus which I realize you may interpret as a Bush League prey on words. Switching first letters of the candidates\u27 last names, we discover that one will gush and the other will bore. Looks like we\u27re in for a Gore-Tex campaign--I hope it doesn\u27t leak. I predict that at the end of the campaign Gore will be bushed and Bush will be gored. Then we\u27ll either have four Gore years or rule by a son of a Bush

Theoretical models of risk taking attempt to explain why risk-averse individuals participate in unfair gambles. This paper evaluates the two explanations as to why rational individuals would accept gambles with negative expected returns. It is found that it is skewness, not the mean or the variance of the prize distribution that attracts risk-averse gamblers. However, evidence shows that there seems to be an optimal trade-off between operators’ sales revenues and skewness of the pay-off; a point that designer of gambling games needs to heed to

Many previous experiments document that behavior in multi-person settings responds to the name of the game and the labeling of strategies. Usually these studies cannot tell whether frames affect preferences or beliefs. In this Dictator game study, we investigate whether social framing effects are also present when only one of the subjects makes a decision, in which case the frame may only affect preferences. We find that behavior is insensitive to social framing.beliefs; preferences; framing effects; altruism; cooperation
