Sistem Pelayanan Administrasi Rekam Medik Rawat Inap Di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah (RSUD) Poso
This study aimed to determine and to analyze the administrative services of inpatient medical records at Poso General Hospital, referring to the opinion of Haryadi (2009: 6) comprising the activities of receiving, processing, storing, presenting information, and treating or maintaining patient medical records. This research was descriptive qualitative. Based on the results of data collection, it was concluded that in general the activities of receiving, processing, storing, presenting information, and treating or maintaining patient medical records had been implemented in accordance with the provisions. However, there were still delays in the medical records services during inpatients examination by physicians. The problem laid on the not-timely change system of duty medical officers, especially for patients entering at night. Medical records frequently could not be found because the duty medical officers accompanying the physicians did not know where the medical records were kept by the duty medical officers before. Additionally, the problems of low education and employment status of the honorary employees influenced the discipline and work behavior of the duty medical officers
Fuzzy Approach Topic Discovery in Health and Medical Corpora
The majority of medical documents and electronic health records (EHRs) are in
text format that poses a challenge for data processing and finding relevant
documents. Looking for ways to automatically retrieve the enormous amount of
health and medical knowledge has always been an intriguing topic. Powerful
methods have been developed in recent years to make the text processing
automatic. One of the popular approaches to retrieve information based on
discovering the themes in health & medical corpora is topic modeling, however,
this approach still needs new perspectives. In this research we describe fuzzy
latent semantic analysis (FLSA), a novel approach in topic modeling using fuzzy
perspective. FLSA can handle health & medical corpora redundancy issue and
provides a new method to estimate the number of topics. The quantitative
evaluations show that FLSA produces superior performance and features to latent
Dirichlet allocation (LDA), the most popular topic model.Comment: 12 Pages, International Journal of Fuzzy Systems, 201
Named Entity Recognition in Electronic Health Records Using Transfer Learning Bootstrapped Neural Networks
Neural networks (NNs) have become the state of the art in many machine
learning applications, especially in image and sound processing [1]. The same,
although to a lesser extent [2,3], could be said in natural language processing
(NLP) tasks, such as named entity recognition. However, the success of NNs
remains dependent on the availability of large labelled datasets, which is a
significant hurdle in many important applications. One such case are electronic
health records (EHRs), which are arguably the largest source of medical data,
most of which lies hidden in natural text [4,5]. Data access is difficult due
to data privacy concerns, and therefore annotated datasets are scarce. With
scarce data, NNs will likely not be able to extract this hidden information
with practical accuracy. In our study, we develop an approach that solves these
problems for named entity recognition, obtaining 94.6 F1 score in I2B2 2009
Medical Extraction Challenge [6], 4.3 above the architecture that won the
competition. Beyond the official I2B2 challenge, we further achieve 82.4 F1 on
extracting relationships between medical terms. To reach this state-of-the-art
accuracy, our approach applies transfer learning to leverage on datasets
annotated for other I2B2 tasks, and designs and trains embeddings that
specially benefit from such transfer.Comment: 11 pages, 4 figures, 8 table
Constructing a Basefile for Simulating Kunming’s Medical Insurance Scheme of Urban Employees
Focusing on China’s medical insurance scheme which covers all employers and employees in urban areas, this research aims to assess the distributional impacts of medical insurance policies and to predict medical expenses by using microsimulation techniques. As an important part of the project, this article provides a brief overview of China’s medical insurance reform of urban employees and detail the techniques and processes to construct a basefile in 2005 for projecting the medical expenditures for urban employees over the period of 2006-2010. The main data used are administrative medical records of medical insurance participants provided by the Bureau of Labour and Social Security of Kunming, Yunnan Province. Along with the initial analysis for the raw datasets and age processing and adjustment for the individual records, monthly income information was imputed and personal savings accounts were established for each individual record. Important modelling parameters such as death rates and income adjustment factors were constructed. Furthermore, this article identifies medical insurance for government officials by using the combination of logarithm curve fitting and binary discriminant analysis. Based on this basefile, a static microsimulation model can be built to assess the implementation effects of the medical insurance policy and analyse the impact of the medical insurance scheme on urban employees.Urban medical insurance, China, microsimulation, basefile, Policy Research
Penggunaan Metode Tcsd (Task Centered System Design) Dalam Website Rekam Medis Pada Rumah Sakit Pelabuhan Palembang
Pelabuhan Hospital Palembang is one of the institutions of public health services in Palembang located at Jalan Mayor Memet Sastrawirya No.1, Palembang. The hospital had problems in the data processing that were not computerized especially on patients' medical records unit in which the data processing were still manually and did not integrate with other data. Thus, it needed an information system of patients' medical record that could provide convenience for employees in processing the data for patients, doctors, medicines, and so on so it could be integrated well with other data by using a local network. The writer applied the method TCSD (Task Centered System Design) in its construction which were used to identify user and task need. Based on the descriptions above, the writer raised the issue as the research for this thesis. The selected title was "Web Based Integrated Medical Record Information Systems In Pelabuhan Hospital Palembang By Using TCSD (Task Centered System Design)".

Knowledge-based best of breed approach for automated detection of clinical events based on German free text digital hospital discharge letters
OBJECTIVES:
The secondary use of medical data contained in electronic medical records, such as hospital discharge letters, is a valuable resource for the improvement of clinical care (e.g. in terms of medication safety) or for research purposes. However, the automated processing and analysis of medical free text still poses a huge challenge to available natural language processing (NLP) systems. The aim of this study was to implement a knowledge-based best of breed approach, combining a terminology server with integrated ontology, a NLP pipeline and a rules engine.
METHODS:
We tested the performance of this approach in a use case. The clinical event of interest was the particular drug-disease interaction "proton-pump inhibitor [PPI] use and osteoporosis". Cases were to be identified based on free text digital discharge letters as source of information. Automated detection was validated against a gold standard.
RESULTS:
Precision of recognition of osteoporosis was 94.19%, and recall was 97.45%. PPIs were detected with 100% precision and 97.97% recall. The F-score for the detection of the given drug-disease-interaction was 96,13%.
CONCLUSION:
We could show that our approach of combining a NLP pipeline, a terminology server, and a rules engine for the purpose of automated detection of clinical events such as drug-disease interactions from free text digital hospital discharge letters was effective. There is huge potential for the implementation in clinical and research contexts, as this approach enables analyses of very high numbers of medical free text documents within a short time period
