Iris feature extraction: a survey
Biometric as a technology has been proved to be a reliable means of enforcing constraint in a security sensitiveenvironment. Among the biometric technologies, iris recognition system is highly accurate and reliable becauseof their stable characteristics throughout lifetime. Iris recognition is one of the biometric identification thatemploys pattern recognition technology with the use of high resolution camera. Iris recognition consist of manysections among which feature extraction is an important stage. Extraction of iris features is very important andmust be successfully carried out before iris signature is stored as a template. This paper gives a comprehensivereview of different fundamental iris feature extraction methods, and some other methods available in literatures. It also gives a summarised form of performance accuracy of available algorithms. This establishes a platform onwhich future research on iris feature extraction algorithm(s) as a component of iris recognition system can bebased. Keywords: biometric authentication, false acceptance rate (FAR), false rejection rate (FRR), feature extraction, iris recognition system
Tomographic inversion using -norm regularization of wavelet coefficients
We propose the use of regularization in a wavelet basis for the
solution of linearized seismic tomography problems , allowing for the
possibility of sharp discontinuities superimposed on a smoothly varying
background. An iterative method is used to find a sparse solution that
contains no more fine-scale structure than is necessary to fit the data to
within its assigned errors.Comment: 19 pages, 14 figures. Submitted to GJI July 2006. This preprint does

Iris Recognition System Using Support Vector Machines
In recent years, with the increasing demands of
security in our networked society, biometric systems
for user verification are becoming more popular. Iris
recognition system is a new technology for user
verification. In this paper, the CASIA iris database is
used for individual user’s verification by using support
vector machines (SVMs) which based on the analysis of iris code as feature extraction is discussed. This feature is then used to recognize authentic users and to reject impostors. Support Vector Machines (SVMs) technique was used for the classification process. The proposed method is evaluated based upon False Rejection Rate (FRR) and False Acceptance Rate (FAR) and the experimental result show that this technique produces good performance
A Survey of Iris Recognition System
The uniqueness of iris texture makes it one of the reliable physiological biometric traits compare to the other biometric traits. In this paper, we investigate a different level of fusion approach in iris image. Although, a number of iris recognition methods has been proposed in recent years, however most of them focus on the feature extraction and classification method. Less number of method focuses on the information fusion of iris images. Fusion is believed to produce a better discrimination power in the feature space, thus we conduct an analysis to investigate which fusion level is able to produce the best result for iris recognition system. Experimental analysis using CASIA dataset shows feature level fusion produce 99% recognition accuracy. The verification analysis shows the best result is GAR = 95% at the FRR = 0.1
