    Sequential joint signal detection and signal-to-noise ratio estimation

    The sequential analysis of the problem of joint signal detection and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimation for a linear Gaussian observation model is considered. The problem is posed as an optimization setup where the goal is to minimize the number of samples required to achieve the desired (i) type I and type II error probabilities and (ii) mean squared error performance. This optimization problem is reduced to a more tractable formulation by transforming the observed signal and noise sequences to a single sequence of Bernoulli random variables; joint detection and estimation is then performed on the Bernoulli sequence. This transformation renders the problem easily solvable, and results in a computationally simpler sufficient statistic compared to the one based on the (untransformed) observation sequences.     Bayesian integration of audio and visual information for multi-target tracking using a CB-member filter

    A new method is presented for integration of audio and visual information in multiple target tracking applications. The proposed approach uses a Bayesian filtering formulation and exploits multi-Bernoulli random finite set approximations. The work presented in this paper is the first principled Bayesian estimation approach to solve the sensor fusion problems that involve intermittent sensory data (e.g. audio data for a person who occasionally speaks.) We have examined our method with case studies from the SPEVI database.     Multi-Bernoulli Sensor-Control via Minimization of Expected Estimation Errors

    This paper presents a sensor-control method for choosing the best next state of the sensor(s), that provide(s) accurate estimation results in a multi-target tracking application. The proposed solution is formulated for a multi-Bernoulli filter and works via minimization of a new estimation error-based cost function. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can outperform the state-of-the-art methods in terms of computation time and robustness to clutter while delivering similar accuracy
