Report on the implementation of progress files
'Report on the Implementation of Progress Files' summarises the findings of a sector-wide survey on progress in the implementation and use of transcripts and personal development planning in higher education. The report, by John Brennan and Tarla Shah of the Centre for Higher Education Research and Information (CHERI), was commissioned by the Progress File Implementation Group (consisting of policy advisers from Universities UK, SCOP, LTSN Generic Centre and QAA) following the announcement in the recent HE White Paper, 'The Future of Higher Education'
Towards remote monitoring and remotely supervised training
The growing number of elderly and people with chronic disorders in our western society puts such pressure on our healthcare system that innovative approaches are demanded to make our health care more effective and more efficient. One way of innovation of healthcare can be obtained by introducing new services which enable less pressure on the intramural health care and support a more independent living and self efficacy of patients. Two of such services are Remote monitoring and remotely supervised training (RMT). Remote monitoring enables freedom to the patient with the assurance that assistance is possible whenever required. Remotely supervised treatment enables efficient and effective user-centred training anywhere and anytime with an intensity not feasible in an intramural setting. It is our vision that remote monitoring and remotely supervised treatment applications will become very important for patients (safety, more in control, convenience), health care insurances (efficiency, cost reduction) and healthcare service providers (more effective, innovative)
A COLLABORATIVE MODEL FOR VIRTUAL ENTERPRISE
Collaborative process characteristics have three dimensions: actors, activities and action’s logic. The aim of this paper is to present a virtual portal’s model that helps managing consortiums. Our model based on dynamic e-collaboration and it has a modular structure, multilayer approach. System’s functionality of virtual enterprise is collaborative model is concern on users’ login, based on role and access control, searching and providing distributed resources, accessibility, metadata management and improved information’s management. Our proposal for developing solution offers a functional architecture of a virtual enterprise using dynamic e-collaboration and shared space.dynamic e-collaboration, multilayer solution, modular approach
