Medical damage is a common problem faced by hospitals around the world and is widely watched by countries and the World Health Organization. As the number of medical damage dispute lawsuit cases rapidly grows, many countries in the world face the problem how to improve the efficiency of the judicial system under the premise of guaranteeing the quality of the trial. Therefore, in addition to reforming the system, the decision support system will effectively improve judicial decisions. This paper takes medical damage judgment documents in China as example, and proposes a court judgment decision support system (CJ-DSS) based on medical text mining and the automatic classification technology. The system can predict the trail results of the new lawsuit documents according to the previous cases verdict - rejected and non-rejected. Combined with the cases, the study in this paper found that combined feature extraction method does improve the performance of three kinds of classifiers - Support Value Machine (SVM), Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), the degree of improved performance is different from using DF-CHI combined feature extraction method. In addition, integrated learning algorithm also improves the classification performance of the overall system

Combining multi-domain statistical machine translation models using automatic classifiers

This paper presents a set of experiments on Domain Adaptation of Statistical Machine Translation systems. The experiments focus on Chinese-English and two domain-specific corpora. The paper presents a novel approach for combining multiple domain-trained translation models to achieve improved translation quality for both domain-specific as well as combined sets of sentences. We train a statistical classifier to classify sentences according to the appropriate domain and utilize the corresponding domain-specific MT models to translate them. Experimental results show that the method achieves a statistically significant absolute improvement of 1.58 BLEU (2.86% relative improvement) score over a translation model trained on combined data, and considerable improvements over a model using multiple decoding paths of the Moses decoder, for the combined domain test set. Furthermore, even for domain-specific test sets, our approach works almost as well as dedicated domain-specific models and perfect classification

Opinion mining and sentiment analysis methods has become a prerogative models in terms of gaining insights from the huge volume of data that is being generated from vivid sources. There are vivid range of data that is being generated from varied sources. If such veracity and variety of data can be explored in terms of evaluating the opinion mining process, it could help the target groups in getting the public pulse which could support them in taking informed decisions. Though the process of opinion mining and sentiment analysis has been one of the hot topics focused upon by the researchers, the process has not been completely revolutionary. In this study the focus has been upon reviewing varied range of models and solutions that are proposed for sentiment analysis and opinion mining. From the vivid range of inputs that are gathered and the detailed study that is carried out, it is evident that the current models are still in complex terms of evaluation and result fetching, due to constraints like comprehensive knowledge and natural language limitation factors. As a futuristic model in the domain, the process of adapting scope of evolutionary computational methods and adapting hybridization of such methods for feature extraction as an idea is tossed in this paper

Beyond Sentiment: The Manifold of Human Emotions

    Get PDF
Sentiment analysis predicts the presence of positive or negative emotions in a text document. In this paper we consider higher dimensional extensions of the sentiment concept, which represent a richer set of human emotions. Our approach goes beyond previous work in that our model contains a continuous manifold rather than a finite set of human emotions. We investigate the resulting model, compare it to psychological observations, and explore its predictive capabilities. Besides obtaining significant improvements over a baseline without manifold, we are also able to visualize different notions of positive sentiment in different domains.Comment: 15 pages, 7 figure

Music emotion recognition: a multimodal machine learning approach

Music emotion recognition (MER) is an emerging domain of the Music Information Retrieval (MIR) scientific community, and besides, music searches through emotions are one of the major selection preferred by web users. As the world goes to digital, the musical contents in online databases, such as Last.fm have expanded exponentially, which require substantial manual efforts for managing them and also keeping them updated. Therefore, the demand for innovative and adaptable search mechanisms, which can be personalized according to users’ emotional state, has gained increasing consideration in recent years. This thesis concentrates on addressing music emotion recognition problem by presenting several classification models, which were fed by textual features, as well as audio attributes extracted from the music. In this study, we build both supervised and semisupervised classification designs under four research experiments, that addresses the emotional role of audio features, such as tempo, acousticness, and energy, and also the impact of textual features extracted by two different approaches, which are TF-IDF and Word2Vec. Furthermore, we proposed a multi-modal approach by using a combined feature-set consisting of the features from the audio content, as well as from context-aware data. For this purpose, we generated a ground truth dataset containing over 1500 labeled song lyrics and also unlabeled big data, which stands for more than 2.5 million Turkish documents, for achieving to generate an accurate automatic emotion classification system. The analytical models were conducted by adopting several algorithms on the crossvalidated data by using Python. As a conclusion of the experiments, the best-attained performance was 44.2% when employing only audio features, whereas, with the usage of textual features, better performances were observed with 46.3% and 51.3% accuracy scores considering supervised and semi-supervised learning paradigms, respectively. As of last, even though we created a comprehensive feature set with the combination of audio and textual features, this approach did not display any significant improvement for classification performanc
