    Get PDF
The mini conference “Optimisation of Mobile Communication Networks” focuses on advanced methods for search and optimisation applied to wireless communication networks. It is sponsored by Research & Enterprise Fund Southampton Solent University. The conference strives to widen knowledge on advanced search methods capable of optimisation of wireless communications networks. The aim is to provide a forum for exchange of recent knowledge, new ideas and trends in this progressive and challenging area. The conference will popularise new successful approaches on resolving hard tasks such as minimisation of transmit power, cooperative and optimal routing

Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) have been envisioned to be useful in road safety and many commercial applications. The growing trend to provide communication among the vehicles on the road has provided the opportunities for developing a variety of applications for VANET. The unique characteristics of VANET bring about new research challenges

Implementation of microscopic parameters for density estimation of heterogeneous traffic flow for VANET

    No full text
Microscopic aspects of traffic codes for heterogeneous traffic flow are considered to be optimal for the performance of vehicular ad-hoc network. Within the scope of this concept, fluid dynamic model was applied for density estimation of heterogeneous traffic conditions. The effect of jamming density on velocity and density dynamics having influence of safety distance between the vehicles is accordingly presented in this paper. The new approach for density estimation is expected to provide more realistic data about road conditions for implementing vehicular ad-hoc network
