    The question has been raised whether Nietzsche intends eternal recurrence to be like a categorical imperative. The obvious objection to understanding eternal recurrence as like a categorical imperative is that for a categorical imperative to make any sense, for moral obligation to make any sense, it must be possible for individuals to change themselves. And Nietzsche denies that individuals can change themselves. Magnus thinks the determinism “implicit in the doctine of the eternal recurrence of the same renders any imperative impotent…. How can one will what must happen in any case?” At the other end of the spectrum, those who do hold that eternal recurrence is like a categorical imperative, for their part, tend to ignore or deny the determinism involved in eternal recurrence.     A Graph Model for Imperative Computation

    Scott's graph model is a lambda-algebra based on the observation that continuous endofunctions on the lattice of sets of natural numbers can be represented via their graphs. A graph is a relation mapping finite sets of input values to output values. We consider a similar model based on relations whose input values are finite sequences rather than sets. This alteration means that we are taking into account the order in which observations are made. This new notion of graph gives rise to a model of affine lambda-calculus that admits an interpretation of imperative constructs including variable assignment, dereferencing and allocation. Extending this untyped model, we construct a category that provides a model of typed higher-order imperative computation with an affine type system. An appropriate language of this kind is Reynolds's Syntactic Control of Interference. Our model turns out to be fully abstract for this language. At a concrete level, it is the same as Reddy's object spaces model, which was the first "state-free" model of a higher-order imperative programming language and an important precursor of games models. The graph model can therefore be seen as a universal domain for Reddy's model

    In an increasingly risky socioeconomic environment, management needs to proactively consider brand-related risks. To understand brands as tools for risk management, they need to understand four types of brand risk: brand reputation risk, brand dilution risk, brand cannibalization risk and brand stretch risk. Risk management is not a natural act for brand managers trained in astute execution of the 4 Ps, and contemporary market factors make this more challenging still. With an increasingly polarized society, it is almost impossible for brands to remain untouched by ideologies. In addition, the growth in digital advertising gives brand managers less control over advertising placement and context, and the mandate to keep growing adds executional risk. The more exposed a brand is to brand risk, the more attention this topic will need in the boardroom.     The supply chain management is at the core of globalising world. Today the large corporations are able to source materials from all around the world and sell it in the most interior parts of the developing and developed world. With the increase in oil prices, this model of globalisation is coming under strain. But there are some other challenges also facing the dominant globalisation model. The call to large corporations to look for the fortune at the bottom of the economic pyramid implied dipping into the limited purchasing power of the economically poor people. Assumption was that given the cultural bias in favour of poor emulating the lifestyle of the richer people (.Sanskritisation.), the possibility of selling products and services at affordable prices to the poor were immense. It did not matter if the market for locally produced goods and services got suppressed, creating a constraint for the growth of above model. Apart from the logistical issues in meeting scattered, small and uncertain demand in rural areas, the ethical and efficiency issues also did not get addressed. In this paper, I am challenging the viability of current model of globalisation. To me, unless sufficient space is created in global markets for grassroots products and services, the present model is just not sustainable. I would like to first discuss the emerging innovations at grassroots level which can help us think about new models for moulding markets at local, regional and global level. Later, one can better appreciate the logistical implications of integrating horizontal and vertical markets. Finally, I would like to speculate about the future shape of distributed, modular manufacturing for meeting local as well as global needs.
