Intrusion detection model of wireless sensor networks based on game theory and an autoregressive model
© 2018 Elsevier Inc. An effective security strategy for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is imperative to counteract security threats. Meanwhile, energy consumption directly affects the network lifetime of a wireless sensor. Thus, an attempt to exploit a low-consumption Intrusion Detection System (IDS) to detect malicious attacks makes a lot of sense. Existing Intrusion Detection Systems can only detect specific attacks and their network lifetime is short due to their high energy consumption. For the purpose of reducing energy consumption and ensuring high efficiency, this paper proposes an intrusion detection model based on game theory and an autoregressive model. The paper not only improves the autoregressive theory model into a non-cooperative, complete-information, static game model, but also predicts attack pattern reliably. The proposed approach improves on previous approaches in two main ways: (1) it takes energy consumption of the intrusion detection process into account, and (2) it obtains the optimal defense strategy that balances the system's detection efficiency and energy consumption by analyzing the model's mixed Nash equilibrium solution. In the simulation experiment, the running time of the process is regarded as the main indicator of energy consumption of the system. The simulation results show that our proposed IDS not only effectively predicts the attack time and the next targeted cluster based on the game theory, but also reduces energy consumption
Trade impacts of the New Silk Road in Africa: Insight from Neural Networks Analysis
The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is aimed to strengthen the preferential reciprocal trade between China and the BeltRoad nations. Quantitative evaluations of BRI to determine whether it can explicitly provide more insight into China’s bilateral trade among its partners are needed. Hence, improving prediction accuracy while using more superior algorithms for sustainable decision-making remains essential since decision-makers have been interested in predicting the future. Machine learning algorithms, such as supervised artificial neural networks (ANN), outperform several econometric procedures in predictions; therefore, they are potentially powerful techniques to evaluate BRI. This study uses detailed China’s bilateral export data from 1990 to 2017 to analyze and evaluate the impact of BRI on bilateral trade using gravity model estimations and ANN analysis techniques. The finding suggests that China’s bilateral export flow among the BRI countries results in a slight increase in inter-regional trade. The study provides a comparison view on the different estimation procedures of the gravity model – ordinary least squares (OLS) and Poisson pseudomaximum likelihood (PPML) with the ANN. The ANN associated with fixed country effects reveals a more accurate estimation compared to a baseline model and with country-year fixed effects. Contrarily, the OLS estimator and PPML showed mixed results. Grounded on the study dataset, the ANN estimation of the gravity equation was superior over the other procedures to explain the variability of the dependent variable (export) regarding the prediction accuracy using root mean squared error (RMSE) and R-square
Paramos sistema investuotojui valiutų rinkoje
Disertacijoje nagrinėjamos investavimo valiutų rinkoje, naudojant dirbtinį intelektą, galimybes. Literatūros analizė atskleidė, kad vienu metu pasaulyje formavosi dvi skirtingos mokslinių tyrimų kryptys: universalioji dirbtinio intelekto
teorija ir investicijų teorija. Pirmoji kryptis turėjo įtakos universalios prognozės galimybės teorijos atsiradimui, tai lėmė įvairių dirbtinio intelekto algoritmų
ir jų sistemų sukūrimą. Antroji kryptis vystėsi kartu su racionalaus
numatymo teorija, kuri padėjo pagrindus moderniosios portfelio teorijos atsiradimui.
Šiame darbe siekiama susieti šias dvi mokslines kryptis valiutų rinkos
prognozavimui.
Pagrindinis disertacijos tikslas – sukurti investicinių sprendimų priėmimo
paramos sistemą investuotojui valiutų rinkoje tikslingai pritaikant dirbtinio
intelekto algoritmus ir moderniąją portfelio teoriją. Darbe sprendžiami pagrindiniai uždaviniai: suformuoti valiutų rinkos prognozavimo modelį dirbtinio intelekto algoritmų pagrindu, integruoti investicinio portfelio optimizavimo
principus į prognozavimo modelį, empiriškai aprobuoti modelio efektyvumą
ir patikimumą investuojant valiutų rinkoje. Finansų rinkų prognozavimui tikslingai
pritaikius dirbtinio intelekto algoritmus ir į juos integravus moderniąją
portfelio teoriją, sukurta patikima ir efektyvi paramos sistema investuotojui.
