Impact of Mobile and Wireless Technology on Healthcare Delivery services
Modern healthcare delivery services embrace the use of leading edge technologies and new
scientific discoveries to enable better cures for diseases and better means to enable early
detection of most life-threatening diseases. The healthcare industry is finding itself in a
state of turbulence and flux. The major innovations lie with the use of information
technologies and particularly, the adoption of mobile and wireless applications in
healthcare delivery [1]. Wireless devices are becoming increasingly popular across the
healthcare field, enabling caregivers to review patient records and test results, enter
diagnosis information during patient visits and consult drug formularies, all without the
need for a wired network connection [2]. A pioneering medical-grade, wireless
infrastructure supports complete mobility throughout the full continuum of healthcare
delivery. It facilitates the accurate collection and the immediate dissemination of patient
information to physicians and other healthcare care professionals at the time of clinical
decision-making, thereby ensuring timely, safe, and effective patient care. This paper
investigates the wireless technologies that can be used for medical applications, and the
effectiveness of such wireless solutions in a healthcare environment. It discusses challenges
encountered; and concludes by providing recommendations on policies and standards for
the use of such technologies within hospitals
Benefits of connecting rfid and lean principles in health care
The performance management process in health care is far behind compared to the manufacturing and service industries. Although nowadays the health care organizations are able to deal with a greater rank diseases, their cost, quality and delivery has essentially not improved significantly, and the difference with the other industries even seems to have increased. As opposed to this situation health care has a tremendous opportunity to deploy lean principles to reduce internal/external costs, improve patient safety, increase profits, reduce litigation and decrease the dependence on Government and Insurance. The application of these principles is being facilitated by the use of the new technologies. A new technology allowing personnel to constantly "see" what's happening with regards to patients schedule, backlog, workflow, inventory levels, resource utilization, quality, etc., is Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). The aim of this paper is to analyse the benefits that can be derived from the joint use of lean principles and RFID technology in health care

MOBILITY21: Strategic Investments for Transportation Infrastructure & Technology
America's transportation infrastructure is the backbone of our economy. A
strong infrastructure means a strong America - an America that competes
globally, supports local and regional economic development, and creates jobs.
Strategic investments in our transportation infrastructure are vital to our
national security, economic growth, transportation safety and our technology
leadership. This document outlines critical needs for our transportation
infrastructure, identifies new technology drivers and proposes strategic
investments for safe and efficient air, ground, rail and marine mobility of
people and goods.Comment: A Computing Community Consortium (CCC) white paper, 4 page
A review of instructional delivery in social work education using ICT tools
Education has been aptly referred to as a veritable tool for meaningful development. The quality and effectiveness of teaching determine to a great extent the overall quality of education and the attainment of educational goals and objectives. Information and Communication Technology ICT) has been globally acclaimed as a tool that can accelerate and promote teaching and learning (National Policy for Information Technology, 2001). As opined by Kirschmer and Waperies, (2003), Information and Communication Technology can make the school more efficient and productive, there by engendering a variety of tools to enhance and facilitate teachersâ professional activities. This theoretical paper reiterates the vital role of ICT in effective teaching and learning generally and essentially in Social Work Education. It kicked off by examining the concepts of ICT and social work; establishing the need for ICT tools in instructional delivery in social work. The paper thereafter examined some applications of ICT tools in Social Work Education delivery and emphasizes the need for social work educators to judiciously utilize the opportunities and benefits inherent in ICT oriented instructional delivery. The paper concludes with a caution on the potential impact of ICT on professional identity of confidentiality
Review Based Study On Healthcare Systems In Higher Education
E-Learning in Higher Education is one of the major concern area which is recognized as an important factor, significantly contributing to the progress of an individual, social change and economic growth which leads to the holistic development of the nation. LMS has a wide range of products and services which can cater to the need of 21st century's learners and instructors. The popularity of LMS among the universities is very high, so the changing needs of stakeholder in education made a pathway to move towards more virtual learning which emphasizing to save time and money and effective delivery of instruction. As stated earlier Learning Management System is a software based application which help us to administrate, document, track, report and evaluate the teaching learning process, training programs, virtual classes, and e-Learning programs. Functions of Learning Management System can be broadly divided into 4 major parts and then sub parts will be discussed under    the  main   category: Stakeholder Functionality-In this part the participant or stakeholder has their own space by which they are able to access the following services: View the status of course and completion of courses ; Facility to print or view the certificate- Content or Course Management; Manage, add or delete the content of the course or modules. Learning Management System has different categories depending upon their usage and accessibility
IMSA20: Bold Ideas
In the mid 1980s, the state of Illinois, recognizing a sharply increased need for highly skilled leaders in mathematics, science and technology, founded the Illinois Mathematics and Science AcademyÂź. Twenty years later, the national demand for mathematics, science and technology leaders has never been greater. The National Academies report - Rising Above the Gathering Storm and President Bush\u27s American Competitiveness Initiative - address the growing concern that the United States is losing its competitive advantage as countries abroad invest heavily in the education and training of scientists and engineers. Both initiatives call for increased commitments in scientific research and in mathematics, science and technology education programs.
Illinois citizens can take pride in their visionary role in creating an innovative institution that has become one of the world\u27s leaders in developing talent and leadership in mathematics, science and technology. Underlying our work is a dynamic design that prepares learners to be leaders in the 21st century. Our rapidly changing world - whether spurred by technology, shifting economic influences, diminishing natural resources or political transitions - calls for leaders who are bold inquirers, integrative thinkers, innovative problem solvers, resourceful inventors and imaginative futurists. This report illuminates the design of the IMSA Way and IMSA\u27s strong returns to investors

Aid Nexus : A Blockchain Based Financial Distribution System
Blockchain technology has emerged as a disruptive force with transformative
potential across numerous industries, promising efficient and automated
solutions that can revolutionize traditional systems. By leveraging
decentralized ledger systems, blockchain offers enhanced security,
transparency, and transaction verification without the need for intermediaries.
The finance sector is exploring blockchain-based solutions for payments,
remittances, lending, and investments, while healthcare adopts the technology
for medical record keeping, supply chain tracking, and data management.
Similarly, supply chain management benefits from blockchain's ability to
enhance transparency, traceability, and accountability from raw materials to
finished products. Other sectors, including real estate, energy, and
government, are also investigating blockchain-based solutions to improve
efficiency, security, and transparency. Furthermore, smart contracts within the
blockchain enable process automation, reducing manual intervention in
distribution workflows. AidNeux, a consortium-based blockchain DApp, reimagines
the distribution of financial assistance by addressing inefficiencies and
opaqueness. Using smart contracts ensures the security and directness of money
transfers. Its robust digital identity verification and real-time auditability
reduce fraud risks and strengthen accountability, thereby presenting a
scalable, transparent solution to problems inherent to conventional financial
aid systems
