Glacier surface velocity measure based on polarimetric tracking

International audienceThe contribution of Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) images compared with the single-channel SAR in terms of temporal scene characterization has been found and described to add valuable information in the literature. Recently, a new PolSAR tracking algorithm has been proposed for glacier surface velocity monitoring. The proposed polarimetric tracking method applies Mutual Information (MI) to measure the statistical dependence between temporal polarimetric images, which is assumed to be maximum if the images are geometrically aligned. In this paper, its implementation of interest will be investigated
