Geschäftsanalyse im Kontext der Unternehmensarchitektur

Zusammenfassung: Die Wandlungsfähigkeit von Organisationen ist ein wesentlicher Erfolgsfaktor, zu dem die Unternehmensarchitektur einen wichtigen Beitrag leisten kann. Geschäftsanalysen liefern die Voraussetzungen für das Verständnis und die transparente Weiterentwicklung des Geschäftsmodells und die dafür notwendige Ausrichtung der Informationstechnologie. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird am Beispiel eines Schweizerischen Versicherungsunternehmens gezeigt, wie durch Geschäftsanalyse einerseits das Verständnis des Geschäftsmodells gefördert und andererseits die Abstimmung zwischen Geschäfts- und IT-Architektur unterstützt wird. Ferner wird ein Ansatz vorgestellt, der verschiedene Ziele und Typen der Geschäftsanalyse im Kontext von Unternehmensarchitekturen zusammenführ

An Exploration of Enterprise Architecture Research

Management of the enterprise architecture has become increasingly recognized as a crucial part of both business and IT management. Still, a common understanding and methodological consistency seems far from being developed. Acknowledging the significant role of research in moving the development process along, this article employs different bibliometric methods, complemented by an extensive qualitative interpretation of the research field, to provide a unique overview of the enterprise architecture literature. After answering our research questions about the collaboration via co-authorships, the intellectual structure of the research field and its most influential works, and the principal themes of research, we propose an agenda for future research based on the findings from the above analyses and their comparison to empirical insights from the literature. In particular, our study finds a considerable degree of co-authorship clustering and a positive impact of the extent of co-authorship on the diffusion of works on enterprise architecture. In addition, this article identifies three major research streams and shows that research to date has revolved around specific themes, while some of high practical relevance receive minor attention. Hence, the contribution of our study is manifold and offers support for researchers and practitioners alike

Model Based Analysis of Executive Information Systems: An Approach for Evaluation on the Basis of Corporate Planning and Control Processes

Die Komplexität von Managementaufgaben steigt infolge zunehmender Einflüsse aus der Unternehmensumwelt und hieraus resultierenden innerbetrieblichen Zustandsänderungen. Um über eine zur Komplexitätsbeherrschung ausreichende Lenkungsvarietät verfügen zu können, wächst dementsprechend der qualitäts- und mengenbezogene Informationsbedarf des Managements. Führungsinformationssysteme unterstützen die Bereitstellung managementrelevanter Informationen, setzen allerdings voraus, dass für die Gestaltung dieser Systeme durchgängig betriebliche Geschäftsprozesse zugrunde gelegt werden. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird die zuvor beschriebene Anforderung aufgegriffen und zunächst ein Vorgehen zur Transformation der Methodik der modellbasierten Geschäftsprozessuntersuchung von der Ebene der betrieblichen Leistungserstellung auf die Ebene der Planungs- und Lenkungsprozesse entwickelt. Durch dieses Vorgehen wird ermöglicht, Aufgaben der strategischen Lenkungsebene strukturieren und analysieren zu können. Weiterer Gegenstand der Untersuchung in der Arbeit ist die Bewertung des Führungsinformationssystems SAP SEM BPS/CPM anhand von Branchen-Referenzmodellen und Geschäftsprozessmodellen. Auf der Grundlage von Beobachtungsergebnissen aus der Branche ´Öffentliche Versorgung & Infrastruktur´werden anhand von Referenzmodellen Gestaltungspotenziale der Software SAP SEM BPS/CPM abgeleitet. Im Rahmen der praxisorientierten Untersuchung eines Fallstudienunternehmens wird zudem der Anwendungsumfang von SAP SEM hinsichtlich der Faktoren Kosten, Zeit und Qualität evaluiert. Zur Analyse des Anwendungsumfangs werden Geschäftsprozessmodelle genutzt, deren Konstruktion auf der Methodik des Semantischen Objektmodells (SOM) basiert.The complexity of management tasks increases due to ever stronger influences from the companiesenvironment and the attendant change of state within companies. To ensure a sufficient steering variety for the control of complex situations, more qualitative and quantitative management information is needed. Executive information systems support the generation and utilization of information relevant to management. These systems configuration is required to continuously take business processes into account. This thesis is to take the above described requirement to initially develop an approach for transforming the method of model-based business process analysis from the level of operational services to the level of planning and control processes. This approach facilitates to structure and analyse tasks of the level of strategic control. The analysis of the executive information system SAP SEM BPS/CPM with the use of reference models and business process models is further object of this thesis. Based on observation results from the public utility and infrastructure industry, reference models used as best practice patterns are established in order to derive the potential of the software to form planning and steering systems. Furthermore, the practice-oriented analysis of a company used within the case study identifies the scope of the software application and evaluates its analysis results with regard to the factors costs, time and quality. To analyse the scope of the application, business process models are used which rest upon the Semantic Object Model (SOM) approach
