Generalized Maximum Entropy estimation of discrete sequential move games of perfect information
We propose a data-constrained generalized maximum entropy (GME) estimator for discrete sequential move games of perfect information which can be easily implemented on optimization software with high-level interfaces such as GAMS. Unlike most other work on the estimation of complete information games, the method we proposed is data constrained and does not require simulation and normal distribution of random preference shocks. We formulate the GME estimation as a (convex) mixed-integer nonlinear optimization problem (MINLP) which is well developed over the last few years. The model is identified with only weak scale and location normalizations, monte carlo evidence demonstrates that the estimator can perform well in moderately size samples. On the decomposition of Generalized Additive Independence models
The GAI (Generalized Additive Independence) model proposed by Fishburn is a
generalization of the additive utility model, which need not satisfy mutual
preferential independence. Its great generality makes however its application
and study difficult. We consider a significant subclass of GAI models, namely
the discrete 2-additive GAI models, and provide for this class a decomposition
into nonnegative monotone terms. This decomposition allows a reduction from
exponential to quadratic complexity in any optimization problem involving
discrete 2-additive models, making them usable in practice

It is argued that virtually all coalitional, strategic and extensive game formats as currently employed in the extant game-theoretic literature may be presented in a natural way as discrete nonfull or even-under a suitable choice of morphisms- as full subcategories of Chu (Poset 2).
Consumers preferences for dairy-alternative beverage using home-scan data in Catalonia
The changing lifestyles and the growing health concerns towards the negative impact of the saturated fatty acids originating from animals has increased consumers’ preferences for dairy-alternative products. These products belong to the food and beverage classification that is similar to certain types of dairy-based products in terms of texture and flavor, and has similar nutritional benefits. In this context, we seek to identify the willingness to pay (WTP) for the most important attributes that consumers take into account when purchasing the dairy-alternative drinks. A revealed preference discrete choice experiment was carried out using home-scan data belonging to ©Kantar Worldpanel (Barcelona, Spain) regarding the consumption of dairy-alternative drinks in Catalonia (Spain) in 343 households. Furthermore, factors that affect the purchasing frequency of this type of product were analyzed through the Poisson and negative binomial models. Results showed that price was the major driving factor, followed by the original non-dairy beverage flavor attribute. The original non-dairy beverage flavor compared to other added ingredients and tastes showed higher WTP when purchasing the non-dairy alternative. Marketing strategies should promote products by focusing on the “original” and “pure” version of the product without additional ingredients, or through reduction of the undesirable compounds if they exist in these kinds of beveragesPostprint (published version
