Various Approaches of Support vector Machines and combined Classifiers in Face Recognition
In this paper we present the various approaches used in face recognition from 2001-2012.because in last decade face recognition is using in many fields like Security sectors, identity authentication. Today we need correct and speedy performance in face recognition. This time the face recognition technology is in matured stage because research is conducting continuously in this field. Some extensions of Support vector machine (SVM) is reviewed that gives amazing performance in face recognition. Here we also review some papers of combined classifier approaches that is also a dynamic research area in a pattern recognition
Fuzzy Integral Based Multi-Sensor Fusion for Arc Detection in the Pantograph-Catenary System
The pantograph-catenary subsystem is a fundamental component of a railway train since it provides the traction electrical power. A bad operating condition or, even worse, a failure can disrupt the railway traffic creating economic damages and, in some cases, serious accidents. Therefore, the correct operation of such subsystems should be ensured in order to have an economically efficient, reliable and safe transportation system. In this study, a new arc detection method was proposed and is based on features from the current and voltage signals collected by the pantograph. A tool named mathematical morphology is applied to voltage and current signals to emphasize the effect of the arc, before applying the fast Fourier transform to obtain the power spectrum. Afterwards, three support vector machine-based classifiers are trained separately to detect the arcs, and a fuzzy integral technique is used to synthesize the results obtained by the individual classifiers, therefore implementing a classifier fusion technique. The experimental results show that the proposed approach is effective for the detection of arcs, and the fusion of classifier has a higher detection accuracy than any individual classifier
A Choquet Fuzzy Integral Vertical Bagging Classifier for Mobile Telematics Data Analysis
© 2019 IEEE. Mobile app development in recent years has resulted in new products and features to improve human life. Mobile telematics is one such development that encompasses multidisciplinary fields for transportation safety. The application of mobile telematics has been explored in many areas, such as insurance and road safety. However, to the best of our knowledge, its application in gender detection has not been explored. This paper proposes a Choquet fuzzy integral vertical bagging classifier that detects gender through mobile telematics. In this model, different random forest classifiers are trained by randomly generated features with rough set theory, and the top three classifiers are fused using the Choquet fuzzy integral. The model is implemented and evaluated on a real dataset. The empirical results indicate that the Choquet fuzzy integral vertical bagging classifier outperforms other classifiers
Power System Parameters Forecasting Using Hilbert-Huang Transform and Machine Learning
A novel hybrid data-driven approach is developed for forecasting power system
parameters with the goal of increasing the efficiency of short-term forecasting
studies for non-stationary time-series. The proposed approach is based on mode
decomposition and a feature analysis of initial retrospective data using the
Hilbert-Huang transform and machine learning algorithms. The random forests and
gradient boosting trees learning techniques were examined. The decision tree
techniques were used to rank the importance of variables employed in the
forecasting models. The Mean Decrease Gini index is employed as an impurity
function. The resulting hybrid forecasting models employ the radial basis
function neural network and support vector regression. Apart from introduction
and references the paper is organized as follows. The section 2 presents the
background and the review of several approaches for short-term forecasting of
power system parameters. In the third section a hybrid machine learning-based
algorithm using Hilbert-Huang transform is developed for short-term forecasting
of power system parameters. Fourth section describes the decision tree learning
algorithms used for the issue of variables importance. Finally in section six
the experimental results in the following electric power problems are
presented: active power flow forecasting, electricity price forecasting and for
the wind speed and direction forecasting
