The Future of Mobile Industry
This paper discusses the future of mobile industry along with some of the background
leading to the emergence of wireless technology. First, it gives an overview of today’s
telecommunication network and the major differences between fixed wired networks and
wireless networks. The discussion then focuses on the challenges facing the wireless
industry and the way out through aggressive innovation by employing Wireless Intelligence
Network (WIN) technology. The paper also discusses some important trends in wireless
industry and the customers expectations which are also part of the challenges for the
mobile industry. Finally particular reference is made to the developing nations especially
Nigeria in the ongoing trends in mobile communication industry
The future of mobile devices:security and mobility
Mobile computing has transformed the way we work, play and communicate in a very short space of time. Advances in mobile technology and the innovative uses of that technology have contributed to a multitude of social and political effects from new ecommerce enterprises to the London Riots. Alongside these innovations are security concerns which will underpin how we think about and develop mobile technology in the future. This two day workshop comprised of a conceptual discussion and two technical exercises. The conceptual discussion group discussed current trends, future possibilities and how mobile technology will impact our lives over the next 10 years and beyond. The technical groups were given two days to produce a demonstrable attack scenario using mobile technology
The future of mobile apps for teaching and learning
A new definition of m-learning has been presented in the first chapter. It was modified from a definition presented by Sharples, Taylor, and Vavoula in 2007. In Chapter 1, Crompton, Muilenburg, and Berge defined m-learning as "learning across multiple contexts, through social and content interactions, using personal electronic devices" (Crompton, 2013, p. 4). This chapter departs from this definition and focuses on mobile applications (apps) and technologies in this context
Integrated Mobile Observations - Future of Mobile Observation Data Technologies
Mobile observations have become an integral part of snow and ice programs. In this session we will learn about the FHWA IMO (integrating mobile observations) initiative; how mobile sensors have evolved; and what these new units are capable of doing. Discussion will include how this technology can help both the operator and the agency, how the data is visualized and used, and how agencies and airports have implemented these units

The genesis and development of mobile learning in Europe
In the past two decades, European researchers have conducted many significant mobile learning projects. The chapter explores how these projects have arisen and what each one has contributed, so as to show the driving forces and outcomes of European innovation in mobile learning. The authors identify context as a central construct in European researchers’ conceptualizations of mobile learning and examine theories of learning for the mobile world, based on physical, technological, conceptual, social and temporal mobility. The authors also examine the impacts of mobile learning research on educational practices and the implications for policy. Finally, they suggest future challenges for researchers, developers and policy makers in shaping the future of mobile learning
An Analysis of the Mobile Payment Problem in Europe
Mobile payment is crucial for, but not limited to mobile commerce. But a role as an established payment system still seems to be a distant prospect for it. In this paper we examine the basic conditions to mobile payment with special regard to the European market. Based on this, we analyze the current deadlock on the mobile payment market in order to develop a set of requirements to an integrative solution in the form of a Universal Mobile Payment System (UMPS). Finally, applications and constrictions of the results are shown and an outlook on the future of mobile payment is given.
Past, present and future of mobile payments research: A literature review
The mobile payment services markets are currently under transition with a history of numerous tried and failed solutions, and a future
of promising but yet uncertain possibilities with potential new technology innovations. At this point of the development, we take a look
at the current state of the mobile payment services market from a literature review perspective. We review prior literature on mobile
payments, analyze the various factors that impact mobile payment services markets, and suggest directions for future research in this
still emerging field. To facilitate the analysis of literature, we propose a framework of four contingency and five competitive force factors,
and organize the mobile payment research under the proposed framework. Consumer perspective of mobile payments as well as technical
security and trust are best covered by contemporary research. The impacts of social and cultural factors on mobile payments, as well as
comparisons between mobile and traditional payment services are entirely uninvestigated issues. Most of the factors outlined by the
framework have been addressed by exploratory and early phase studies.
