E-learning is similar to E-training, that has gained significant popularity and it is expected to continue in the future. E-learning is a multi-dimensional activity where each dimension should be most organization adequately supported by an E-learning system to provide fruitful learning materials to those are interest to read by online, a new experience for most users. the main problem that facing the students with the current learning system for the English course, most of the student incapable to interact with the current learning facilitates, which manage manually by the lecturers, otherwise the student incapable to practice the different technology to enhance their ability during the learning. The main objective of the project is to identify the requirements for Web-based Learning System (WLS) for UUM English Course. Moreover, the proposed web application has been tasted based on the usability, the UUM students agreements for using this system which was (Mean =4.79) by 25 students from UUM

Mobile application has taken an immense impact on organizations as it is able to input data and speed up the business process. Nowadays, handset manufacturers, mobile network operators and suppliers of mobile operating systems are opening storefronts on-line in attempts to capitalize on growing consumer demand. This study looks at the development of a mobile application that enables the student to apply for official document issued from the official document office of Awang Had Salleh Graduate School of Art and Sciences UUM. Within the study, the system requirement of users was developed as well as the prototype development of the mobile application. Furthermore, a usability testing was conducted to inquire about the functionalities of the system. Results of the usability test and recommendations for future research on the same topic were provided

    Information Quality in Web-Based eCatalogue

    Get PDF
Catalogues are important business strategy as they can provide customers with product descriptions and assist who have buying interest to not go through the floor areas and shelves, browsing aimlessly, trying to locate items that are of interest. Printed catalogue are cumbersome to use, require large storage areas, become dated soon after publication, and make search and comparison activities very difficult. The situation is further worsen when the quality of information provided is not regularly updated and is below customers’ expectations. eCatalogue has the potential to offer assistance to customer, and improve information quality. Therefore, an eCatalouge was developed in this study where 30 potential customers tried the proposed eCatalogue for a certain period. Nine information quality dimensions, which are Accuracy, Precision, Currency, Timeliness, Reliability,Completeness, Conciseness, Format, and Relevance, were used to measure the eCatalouge. Based on a three point scale (where 1= disagree and 3= agree),respondents agree that the information in the eCatalouge are somewhat current(mean =2.27), precise (2.20), accurate (2.17), reliable (2.17), and concise(2.17). However, they are not sure about the timely (2.00) and relevant (2.07) dimensions. Also they agree to some extent, the eCatalogue format is satisfying (2.20). Overall mean of quality measure is (2.15), which is indicates that the quality of information in the developed eCatalogue should be improved

Designing an Appointment Management System for the Mother and Child Health Department of the Klinik Kesihatan Changlun

    Get PDF
Information and Communication Technology has been changing the way things have been carried out. Traditionally many work required people to visit the location where the work has been carried out. ICT has been making these services available at their fingertips by hosting these applications online. Klinik Kesihatan Changlun is a public general clinic in the state of Kedah. The appointment management which is one of the most important services of a clinic is presently carried out manually here. Both patients and the staff have to face a lot of problems due to the inefficiency of the manual system. If the system can be automated and made available on the internet, it will solve a lot of problems currently faced by them. This project proposes to design an appointment management system for the Mother and Child Health Department of the Klinik Kesihatan Changlun. The project has been proposed to follow the formal research methodology proposed by Kuchler and Vaishnavi due to its suitability for small to medium sized development projects. Finally it has been proposed conduct a usability test on the prototype developed for ease of use and user friendliness with the aid of the questionnaire

Development of Web-Based Customers Service System in Hyperpanda Mall in Saudi Arabia

The main objective in this study is to develop a web-based system for HyperPanda Mall in Riyadh-Saudi Arabia. HyperPanda Mall offer a huge variety of goods and it is not easy for customers to always find the best offer that fulfill their needs, otherwise, it would cost them long time to search and more efforts. Therefore, this study focused to serve the customers by providing a customer service web-based to guide customers for shopping and purchasing items before going to the stores places, and they have the ability to know the latest products and promotions of the companies and help them to find suitable sales stores and offering best choices available. The system can access the database designed for the mall since this system has search options to find what customers are looking for. Moreover, it helps the companies' vendors who are looking to promote their services and products for their customers and raise their profits locally and internationally, and reach out their customers as much as possible and deliver the best satisfaction of services to their customers wherever they are. A questionnaire based on the Technology Acceptance Model technique has been adopted to ensure of the prototype level in terms of usefulness, satisfaction and easiness of use

Sharing Medical Profiles for International Students in UUM

    Get PDF
One of the most common information technology activities is improvement of healthcare and clinical management systems including personal healthcare records. Personal healthcare records have the potential to help individuals to do a more active role in their health care. It plays a main key in medical diagnosis and therapy. International students in UUM do not have personal healthcare records, which can be shared among medical centers. The aim of this study is to develop a prototype for sharing medical profiles; the prototype is developed by using C# language, and the research design based on general methodology. The evaluation was based on user perception through the use of System Usability Scale (SUS), and the prototype was assessed through a sample questionnaire that consists of thirty-three respondents and the results have been positive

Requirement Model of School Management System for Adult Commercial Secondary School in Somalia (ACSSMS)

    Get PDF
To develop a system, it is necessary for the system's analyst to provide a model. In order to produce this model, the analyst must identify the user’s requirement first. Requirement model is one of the techniques used to model out the user’s requirement for a specific system before the development of that system. In other words, requirement model gives a view of the user’s requirement for a particular system. The purpose of this study is to create a requirement model as a basis to develop school management system for Adult Commercial Secondary School in Somalia. So, during this study, the UML graphical notation was used to model out the requirement model of the proposed school management system, and the requirement model was designed and presented using different UML tools (e.g., use case diagram, use case specifications, activity diagram, sequence diagram, collaboration diagram and class diagram), and supporting textual information. Also, a small prototype was then developed and presented in this study, which covers some of the main functional requirements, so as to assist the school in managing their daily operations effectively and more efficiently. Thus, this study is believed to be a step forward and very crucial guidance for Adult School in Somalia to be able to give this model to system developers to build the proposed school management system

Quantitative Assurance and Synthesis of Controllers from Activity Diagrams

Probabilistic model checking is a widely used formal verification technique to automatically verify qualitative and quantitative properties for probabilistic models. However, capturing such systems, writing corresponding properties, and verifying them require domain knowledge. This makes it not accessible for researchers and engineers who may not have the required knowledge. Previous studies have extended UML activity diagrams (ADs), developed transformations, and implemented accompanying tools for automation. The research, however, is incomprehensive and not fully open, which makes it hard to be evaluated, extended, adapted, and accessed. In this paper, we propose a comprehensive verification framework for ADs, including a new profile for probability, time, and quality annotations, a semantics interpretation of ADs in three Markov models, and a set of transformation rules from activity diagrams to the PRISM language, supported by PRISM and Storm. Most importantly, we developed algorithms for transformation and implemented them in a tool, called QASCAD, using model-based techniques, for fully automated verification. We evaluated one case study where multiple robots are used for delivery in a hospital and further evaluated six other examples from the literature. With all these together, this work makes noteworthy contributions to the verification of ADs by improving evaluation, extensibility, adaptability, and accessibility.Comment: 43 pages, 29 figures, 5 tables, submitted to Journal of Systems and Software (JSS
