The two-and three-point correlation functions of the polarized five-year WMAP sky maps
We present the two- and three-point real space correlation functions of the
five-year WMAP sky maps, and compare the observed functions to simulated LCDM
concordance model ensembles. In agreement with previously published results, we
find that the temperature correlation functions are consistent with
expectations. However, the pure polarization correlation functions are
acceptable only for the 33GHz band map; the 41, 61, and 94 GHz band correlation
functions all exhibit significant large-scale excess structures. Further, these
excess structures very closely match the correlation functions of the two
(synchrotron and dust) foreground templates used to correct the WMAP data for
galactic contamination, with a cross-correlation statistically significant at
the 2sigma-3sigma confidence level. The correlation is slightly stronger with
respect to the thermal dust template than with the synchrotron template.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, published in ApJ. v2: New title, minor changes

Local Disaggregation of Negative Demand and Excess Demand Functions
The literature on the characterization of aggregate excess and market demand has generated three types of results: global, local, or ’at a point’. In this note, we study the relationship between the last two approaches. We prove that within the class of functions satisfying standard conditions and whose Jacobian matrix is negative semi-definite, only n/2 + 1 agents are needed for the ’at’ decomposition. We ask whether, within the same class, the ’around’ decomposition also requires only n/2 + 1 agents.aggregation; market demand functions
A Study of the Quasi-elastic (e,e'p) Reaction on C, Fe and Au
We report the results from a systematic study of the quasi-elastic (e,e'p)
reaction on C, Fe and Au performed at Jefferson Lab. We
have measured nuclear transparency and extracted spectral functions (corrected
for radiation) over a Q range of 0.64 - 3.25 (GeV/c) for all three
nuclei. In addition we have extracted separated longitudinal and transverse
spectral functions at Q of 0.64 and 1.8 (GeV/c) for these three nuclei
(except for Au at the higher Q). The spectral functions are
compared to a number of theoretical calculations. The measured spectral
functions differ in detail but not in overall shape from most of the
theoretical models. In all three targets the measured spectral functions show
considerable excess transverse strength at Q = 0.64 (GeV/c), which is
